Welcome to Yale Health Mental Health & Counseling! We provide confidential mental health treatment to all students in our community. Our services include individual therapy, group therapy, medication consultations, and ongoing management to support your well-being. With a longstanding tradition of excellence, we understand the unique challenges Yale students face. Our team is here to partner with you, offering personalized treatment plans that help you gain the insights and skills needed to thrive at Yale. In urgent situations, any student can ask to speak to the on-call clinician, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Urgent daytime and after-hours calls go to the department at (203) 432-0290. Your Journey to Care Begins Here: 1. Initial Contact:  The first step to accessing care is to contact us by phone. You can schedule an initial intake meeting by calling us at (203) 432-0290. This meeting allows us to learn more about you and your needs. 2 . Your First Visit:  During your first visit, you will meet with one of our clinicians to discuss your main concerns, history, and treatment goals. This conversation will help us understand your preferences and tailor a treatment plan just for you. 3. Matching with a Clinician:  We will match you with the most suitable clinician based on the information gathered during your intake meeting and first visit. Our team consists of experienced clinical psychologists, clinical social workers, and psychiatrists, all skilled in various therapeutic approaches. Wait times vary for your first meeting with your clinician, but usually within a few weeks. You can discuss ongoing therapy scheduling with your clinician. Services We Offer: Individual Therapy: Personalized sessions to address your specific concerns. Group Therapy: Supportive group settings to share and engage with peers. Medication Consultations & Management: Expert guidance and ongoing support for your medication needs. Get Started:  To begin your journey to better mental health, call us today at (203) 432-0290. Your Clinician If you decide to seek individual treatment, you will be matched with a clinician who will send a MyChart message to schedule an appointment. Mental Health & Counseling primarily offers short-term therapy. However, there are no specific visit limits, and students are seen based on their individual needs. If you would like to switch therapists, please call 203-432-0290 and leave a message advising that you want to change therapists. Your newly assigned therapist will call you directly to schedule your first appointment. Group Therapy If you decide to seek group therapy, our group coordinator will contact you to determine your availability and get you started with a group. Most groups meet weekly and last for approximately one semester. We offer a variety of different groups. Read more about our group therapy options here. Medication Consultations and Management Our team of psychiatrists is available if medication is part of your treatment. They provide consultations and ongoing medication management. This may be in conjunction with individual therapy, group therapy, or on its own.

Urgent daytime and after-hours calls go to the department at (203) 432-0290.** ### Your **Journey to Care Begins Here:** **1\.** **Initial Contact:** The first step to accessing care is to contact us by phone. You can schedule an initial intake meeting by calling us at (203) 432-0290. This meeting allows us to learn more about you and your needs. **2**. **Your First Visit:** During your first visit, you will meet with one of our clinicians to discuss your main concerns, history, and treatment goals. This conversation will help us understand your preferences and tailor a treatment plan just for you. **3\. Matching with a Clinician:** We will match you with the most suitable clinician based on the information gathered during your intake meeting and first visit. Our team consists of experienced clinical psychologists, clinical social workers, and psychiatrists, all skilled in various therapeutic approaches. Wait times vary for your first meeting with your clinician, but usually within a few weeks. You can discuss ongoing therapy scheduling with your clinician. **Services We Offer:** - *Individual Therapy:* Personalized sessions to address your specific concerns. - *Group Therapy:* Supportive group settings to share and engage with peers. - *Medication Consultations & Management:* Expert guidance and ongoing support for your medication needs. **Get Started:** To begin your journey to better mental health, call us today at (203) 432-0290. We are here to support you and look forward to helping you thrive at Yale. ### Your Clinician If you decide to seek individual treatment, you will be matched with a clinician who will send a MyChart message to schedule an appointment. ### Group Therapy If you decide to seek group therapy, our group coordinator will contact you to determine your availability and get you started with a group. Most groups meet weekly and last for approximately one semester. We offer a variety of different groups. Read [more about our group therapy options here.](https://yalehealth.yale.edu/node/1092) ### Medication Consultations and Management Our team of psychiatrists is available if medication is part of your treatment. They provide consultations and ongoing medication management. This may be in conjunction with individual therapy, group therapy, or on its own.
