They say they had a report of a Bitcoin scam of individuals pretending to be a deputy from the Hamilton County Sheriff Office. They are reminding locals that they will never ask for Cash App money or Bitcoin. They share a local business has a bitcoin transfer machine and that these are not ATMs. These machines are not currently illegal, but are used to exchange your money into cryptocurrency. These transactions usually cannot be cancelled or refunded, the DPD says. DPD says if you or a loved one have been a victim of one of these crimes to contact local law enforcement or report it to TBI Cybercrimes.

They say they had a report of a Bitcoin scam of individuals pretending to be a deputy from the Hamilton County Sheriff Office. They are reminding locals that they will never ask for Cash App money or Bitcoin. They share a local business has a bitcoin transfer machine and that these are not ATMs. These machines are not currently illegal, but are used to exchange your money into cryptocurrency. These transactions usually cannot be cancelled or refunded, the DPD says. DPD says if you or a loved one have been a victim of one of these crimes to contact local law enforcement or report it to TBI Cybercrimes.
