On Friday, Feb. 6, Veterans Boulevard will be closed in both directions between North Causeway Boulevard and Severn Avenue starting at 3 p.m. until all parades have ended. On Saturday, Feb. 7, Veterans Boulevard will be closed in both directions between North Causeway Boulevard and Severn Avenue starting at 9 a.m. until all parades have been completed. Track Club Annually Family Gras supports the Mardi Gras 10K/5K & Kids' Half Mile, produced by the New Orleans Track Club. Race day is Saturday, February 7, 2026, adjacent to the Family Gras site in Metairie, Louisiana. The Mardi Gras 10K/5K and Kids' Half Mile is a family-friendly run / walk with the race finish coinciding with Jefferson Parish's annual FREE Family Gras festival and their headlining musical acts. Light refreshments and beer are available for participants post-race. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase, and concert admission is free and open to the public. The Mardi Gras 10K/5K is open to all runners and walkers of all speeds, New Orleans Track Club members and nonmembers alike.
