Two Sigma interns come from a variety of backgrounds, but share intellectual curiosity, passion for math, science, and technology, and a desire to do impactful work. At Two Sigma, our work is founded upon and boundlessly inspired by systematic exploration and curiosity-driven inquiry, reflecting the core of the scientific method. Learning & Development Continuous learning and ongoing development are integral to our scientific approach. Our dedicated Learning & Development team offers 200+ classes and external education opportunities per year. Employees also receive 5 learning days and sponsorship to attend one professional development conference each year. Employee Resource Groups Our five Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are employee-led communities that bring together diverse perspectives to foster connection and belonging. Our ERGs – Bridging Ethnicities, Disability Alliance, Pride, Veterans at Two Sigma, and Women at Two Sigma – help build a stronger, more inclusive culture at Two Sigma. Interview We love meeting prospective employees, and it seems the feeling is mutual. Most Two Sigma employees say that getting to know their future colleagues during the interview process was the deciding factor in accepting their offer. Offer In addition to digital offer letters, we send candidates an offer package in the post. Be sure to update your recruiter if you're currently working away from your home address. Start After you accept your offer, we will prepare you for your start date. Do not be surprised if your new manager checks in with you, the anticipation is real! US employees also have access to professional healthcare consultants who can help navigate complicated healthcare issues. Hybrid Work Policy We take a thoughtful approach to our in-person work and are intentional about our time together in the office. Our current policy promotes flexibility and collaboration while being responsive to business needs. We generally ask people to be in the office at least 5 days per month. Our offices are always available for use, employees can choose to go in as frequently as they’d like. Snacks for days Our kitchens on every floor of our offices are fully stocked with snacks and drinks, and offer space to brainstorm or take a break. Fitness programs Two Sigma offices have onsite gyms and we provide multiple wellness classes a week, from boot camp to yoga, with digital options for those working remote. Support for parents Following parental leave, new parents receive additional paid time off to spend time with their growing families. We also partner with Bright Horizons in the US to provide back-up childcare and low cost in-home care. Mindfulness and meditation All employees and dependents have access to confidential, free counseling. We also provide a number of meditation and mindfulness resources to employees. Support for the causes you care about We know that our employees are passionate about many causes and like to give back. Whether donating funds or time, Two Sigma helps to amplify employee donations through a charity matching program. Observance days Employees receive paid time off that can be used to recognize days of personal religious, spiritual, historical, or cultural significance.
