We always aim to provide our passengers with the maximum levels of safety and comfort on our flights. For this reason and in accordance with international flight regulations, there are some, dangerous materials which we do not allow on board our flights. To ensure a problem-free journey, we recommend that you take care not to bring these items on board. Please refer to the following table to find out which materials you can carry with you, and any other conditions relating to them. Banned and restricted items The lithium metal content must not exceed 2 grams, and the lithium-ion content must not exceed 100 Wh. A maximum of 15 PEDs may be carried per passenger. *The airline may approve the carriage of more than 15 batteries per passenger. Additionally, lithium metal batteries containing between 2–8g, and lithium-ion batteries with a capacity between 100–160 Wh, may also be carried. A maximum of 2 spare batteries (weighing between 2–8g) may be carried per passenger. Batteries in checked baggage must be fully sealed.   Permitted as carry-on baggage Permitted as cabin baggage Permitted as registered baggage Note Alcoholic beverages ✓ ✓ ✓ Alcohol content can be at most 70%. A passenger may carry only a maximum of 5 liters of alcohol. (Due to the liquid restriction at airport security clearance, the amount specified for cabin baggage is only valid for items purchased from Duty-Free Shops). Hair sprays, perfumes, colognes and medicines containing alcohol, etc. ✓ ✓ ✓ A maximum of 100 ml is permitted in the cabin. Ammunition and supplies X X ✓ A maximum of a gross 5 kg per passenger may be carried for personal use. Rescue bags ✓ ✓ ✓   Smart baggage with non-removable lithium batteries (Excluding Rideable Smart Baggage) X ✓ ✓ Non-removable battery limits; lithium metal content must not exceed 0.3 grams, and lithium-ion content must not exceed 2.7 Wh. If the non-removable battery limits exceed 0.3 grams of lithium metal or 2.7 Wh, their transport is prohibited. Smart baggage with removable lithium batteries (Excluding Rideable Smart Baggage) X ✓ ✓ Removable battery limits; lithium metal content must not exceed 2 grams, and lithium-ion content must not exceed 100 Wh. A maximum of 15 spare lithium-ion batteries (not exceeding 100 Wh) per person can be carried. *The Partnership may approve the carriage of more than 15 batteries per person. A maximum of 2 spare batteries with a watt-hour rating exceeding 100 Wh but not exceeding 160 Wh can be carried. If the baggage is delivered as checked baggage, the batteries must be removed. The removed batteries must be carried in the cabin. Baggage from which the lithium battery has been removed may be carried in the cabin if it complies with cabin baggage dimensions; otherwise, it must be carried as checked baggage Lithium metal, which is primarily used as a power source, non-leaking lithium-ion batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries, and dry cells, including backup batteries ✓ ✓ X Sealed batteries; The voltage of each battery must not exceed 12V, and the watt-hour rating must not exceed 100 Wh. Each passenger may carry a maximum of 2 spare batteries in their carry-on baggage. The amount of lithium in lithium metal batteries must be 2g or less, and the power of lithium-ion batteries must be 100 watt-hours or less. Each battery must be protected against short circuits. A maximum of 15 spare batteries may be carried per passenger. *The airline may approve the carriage of more than 15 batteries per passenger. Batteries for portable electronic devices must be transported as cabin baggage. Powerbank ✓ ✓ X Powerbanks with a lithium metal content equal to or less than 2 grams, and a lithium-ion power equal to or less than 100 Wh, can be carried only in the cabin, up to a maximum of 2 pieces per passenger. Powerbanks must be protected against short circuits. They are not stored in overhead bins; they are stored under the seat in front of the passenger and/or in the seat pocket. They cannot be charged at any stage of the flight and cannot be used to charge other devices. It must be ensured that wireless powerbanks are completely turned off and are not in close enough proximity to start charging your phone if they are accidentally turned on. The carriage of powerbanks with a lithium-ion power exceeding 100 Wh or a lithium metal content exceeding 2 grams is prohibited. Devices containing lithium metal or lithium-ion batteries, such as cameras, cell phones, laptops, and tablets (PED) ✓ ✓ ✓ Lithium metal content must not exceed 2 grams, and lithium-ion content must not exceed 100 Wh. A maximum of 15 PEDs per person can be carried. *The Partnership may approve the carriage of more than 15 batteries per person. Additionally, batteries exceeding 2 g but not exceeding 8 g for lithium metal batteries, and exceeding 100 Wh but not exceeding 160 Wh for lithium-ion batteries can be carried. Spare batteries, power banks, and portable electronic devices (PED) must be kept separate. It is recommended to carry these devices in the cabin, but if the devices are to be carried in checked baggage, they must be completely turned off so as not to be in sleep mode or airplane mode, and must be protected against damage. Portable medical electronic devices (PMED), including portable oxygen concentrators (POC) ✓ ✓ ✓ Batteries with a lithium metal content exceeding 2 grams but not exceeding 8 grams, and lithium-ion batteries exceeding 100 Wh but not exceeding 160 Wh, can be carried. It is recommended to carry these devices in the cabin, but if the devices are to be carried in checked baggage, they must be completely turned off so as not to be in sleep mode or airplane mode, and must be protected against damage.  Self-defense items such as pepper sprey X X X Dry ice ✓ ✓ ✓ A maximum of 2.5 kg per passenger may be carried. Electronics containing batteries, pipes, and cigarettes ✓ ✓ X Recharging of these devices and/or batteries on board the aircraft is forbidden, and measures must be taken to prevent accidental activation. Insulated packages containing refrigerated liquid nitrogen ✓ ✓ ✓   Internal combustion or fuel cell engines X X ✓   A small pack of safety matches or one lighter (lighters that do not contain liquid fuel, other than liquefied gas) ✓ X X Matches that ignite easily upon friction with any surface, blue-flame lighters, cigar lighters, laser plasma lighters, Tesla coil lighters, (flux) lighters, arc lighters, and dual-arc lighters are PROHIBITED, as are lighters powered by lithium batteries that lack a safety cap or protection against accidental activation. Non-spillable liquid-powered batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries, or dry-cell batteries used in battery-powered wheelchairs or similar mobility devices (excluding electric bicycles, Segways, etc.) X X ✓ . Passengers may carry a maximum of one non-spillable liquid battery or two nickel-metal hydride batteries and dry batteries per passenger. If a battery is to be removed from a wheelchair or mobility aid, it must be placed in its original packaging or a battery case, and the battery terminals must be insulated to prevent short circuits. Wheelchairs or other similar mobility devices powered by spillable type (liquid) batteries (excluding electric-rechargeable bicycles, Segways, etc.) X X ✓ If the battery is to be removed from the wheelchair/mobility aid device, it must be placed in its original packaging or a battery container, and the battery terminals must be insulated and protected against short circuits. Radioisotopic cardiac pacemakers, etc. ✓ X X Including those powered by lithium batteries, implanted into a person or fitted externally, are permitted. Specimens, non-infectious, packed with small quantities of flammable liquid ✓ ✓ ✓   Security-type cases, cash bags, etc. X X ✓ For a lithium metal cell, the lithium content is not more than 1 g. Water, which does not contain additives and is in a single package in checked baggage, can be transported in vacuum-sealed, leak-proof packages of one (1) liter each, up to a total of five (5) liters.  Food products [oils (olive oil, etc.), pickled products, sauces, honey, molasses, milk, yogurt, canned products, etc.] may not exceed five (5) liters in total in sealed packages of maximum one (1) liter each. In accordance with the aviation security requirements set forth by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Türkiye, individuals utilizing electronic devices, such as radios and pagers, for personal communication must present a valid document (identification card, license, cocarde, etc.) to verify that these devices are being carried due to a professional requirement. Examples of individuals who may require such devices include paramedics, emergency responders, professional divers, and mountaineers. If you are unable to provide an explanation of your professional requirements at the security checkpoint, your devices will not be permitted on board . Please refer to our cabin baggage page for regulations concerning carrying liquids in the cabin. As our flights to the United States are subject to different baggage regulations, we recommend that customers traveling with us to United States destinations visit our United States baggage regulations page. There is an additional charge for the carriage of weapons on our domestic flights. Passengers who are exempt from weapon carriage fees include the following: VIP passengers on the Rical list and employed guards traveling with these passengers; passengers who have weapons information defined on the public identity card; Holders of a Public Servant Transport License or a Retired Public Servant Transport License; current or retired police officers and TAF members with valid identity cards; and village security guards. Transporting smart baggage Smart bags refer to baggage types (including suitcases, carry-on bags, backpacks, etc.) that incorporate technological features such as GPS tracking systems, Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi connectivity, built-in scales, digital locks, and integrated lithium batteries for charging external devices. Smart bags with non-removable built-in lithium batteries are not permitted on the aircraft as carry-on or checked baggage. Transporting smart baggage in cabin  The lithium battery has to be detached from the smart baggage, carried as cabin baggage and cannot be reinserted until the destination is reached. To protect the detached lithium battery from short-circuiting, the battery should be placed in its original packaging, or its terminals should be insulated, or the battery should be placed in secure plastic bags. Transporting smart baggage as checked baggage  The lithium battery has to be detached from the smart baggage and carried separately in the cabin. The above rules do not apply for smart baggage that is powered by lithium button cells. The above rules are not applied for smart baggage powered by lithium button cells. Hoverboards, Segways, Airwheels, Solowheels, Balance Wheels, electric/rechargeable bicycles, and similar lithium-ion battery-powered portable personal vehicles, as well as lithium battery-powered rideable baggage, are not permitted on the aircraft.   The only element that can pose a danger in carrying drones used for hobby purposes in the cabin is the type and capacity of the battery they contain. There is no problem in carrying battery-containing drones in the cabin within the restrictions regarding electronic devices containing lithium batteries specified in the ICAO Doc.9284 Technical Instructions. In cases where the batteries of wheelchairs / other mobility devices with liquid batteries need to be removed, the removed battery must be placed in a safe and hard package by the passenger. If the battery is not packaged properly, it will not be loaded onto the aircraft.

For this reason and in accordance with international flight regulations, there are some, dangerous materials which we do not allow on board our flights. To ensure a problem-free journey, we recommend that you take care not to bring these items on board. Please refer to the following table to find out which materials you can carry with you, and any other conditions relating to them. Banned and restricted items The lithium metal content must not exceed 2 grams, and the lithium-ion content must not exceed 100 Wh. A maximum of 15 PEDs may be carried per passenger. \*The airline may approve the carriage of more than 15 batteries per passenger. Additionally, lithium metal batteries containing between 2–8g, and lithium-ion batteries with a capacity between 100–160 Wh, may also be carried. A maximum of 2 spare batteries (weighing between 2–8g) may be carried per passenger. In accordance with the aviation security requirements set forth by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Türkiye, individuals utilizing electronic devices, such as radios and pagers, for personal communication must present a valid document (identification card, license, cocarde, etc.) to verify that these devices are being carried due to a professional requirement. Examples of individuals who may require such devices include paramedics, emergency responders, professional divers, and mountaineers. If you are unable to provide an explanation of your professional requirements at the security checkpoint, your devices **will not be permitted on board**. Smart bags with non-removable built-in lithium batteries are not permitted on the aircraft as carry-on or checked baggage. **Transporting smart baggage in cabin** The lithium battery has to be detached from the smart baggage, carried as cabin baggage and cannot be reinserted until the destination is reached. To protect the detached lithium battery from short-circuiting, the battery should be placed in its original packaging, or its terminals should be insulated, or the battery should be placed in secure plastic bags. **Transporting smart baggage as checked baggage** The lithium battery has to be detached from the smart baggage and carried separately in the cabin. The above rules do not apply for smart baggage that is powered by lithium button cells. The above rules are not applied for smart baggage powered by lithium button cells. Hoverboards, Segways, Airwheels, Solowheels, Balance Wheels, electric/rechargeable bicycles, and similar lithium-ion battery-powered portable personal vehicles, as well as lithium battery-powered rideable baggage, are not permitted on the aircraft. ![B737-800.png](https://cdn.turkishairlines.com/m/3e4789246bb7fbbb/original/B737-800-png.jpg) The only element that can pose a danger in carrying drones used for hobby purposes in the cabin is the type and capacity of the battery they contain. There is no problem in carrying battery-containing drones in the cabin within the restrictions regarding electronic devices containing lithium batteries specified in the ICAO Doc.9284 Technical Instructions. In cases where the batteries of wheelchairs / other mobility devices with liquid batteries need to be removed, the removed battery must be placed in a safe and hard package by the passenger. We always aim to provide our passengers with the maximum levels of safety and comfort on our flights. For this reason and in accordance with international flight regulations, there are some, dangerous materials which we do not allow on board our flights. To ensure a problem-free journey, we recommend that you take care not to bring these items on board. Please refer to the following table to find out which materials you can carry with you, and any other conditions relating to them. Banned and restricted items The lithium metal content must not exceed 2 grams, and the lithium-ion content must not exceed 100 Wh. A maximum of 15 PEDs may be carried per passenger. \*The airline may approve the carriage of more than 15 batteries per passenger. Additionally, lithium metal batteries containing between 2–8g, and lithium-ion batteries with a capacity between 100–160 Wh, may also be carried. A maximum of 2 spare batteries (weighing between 2–8g) may be carried per passenger. Smart bags with non-removable built-in lithium batteries are not permitted on the aircraft as carry-on or checked baggage. **Transporting smart baggage in cabin** The lithium battery has to be detached from the smart baggage, carried as cabin baggage and cannot be reinserted until the destination is reached. To protect the detached lithium battery from short-circuiting, the battery should be placed in its original packaging, or its terminals should be insulated, or the battery should be placed in secure plastic bags. **Transporting smart baggage as checked baggage** The lithium battery has to be detached from the smart baggage and carried separately in the cabin. The above rules do not apply for smart baggage that is powered by lithium button cells. The above rules are not applied for smart baggage powered by lithium button cells. Hoverboards, Segways, Airwheels, Solowheels, Balance Wheels, electric/rechargeable bicycles, and similar lithium-ion battery-powered portable personal vehicles, as well as lithium battery-powered rideable baggage, are not permitted on the aircraft. ![B737-800.png](https://cdn.turkishairlines.com/m/3e4789246bb7fbbb/original/B737-800-png.jpg) The only element that can pose a danger in carrying drones used for hobby purposes in the cabin is the type and capacity of the battery they contain. There is no problem in carrying battery-containing drones in the cabin within the restrictions regarding electronic devices containing lithium batteries specified in the ICAO Doc.9284 Technical Instructions. In cases where the batteries of wheelchairs / other mobility devices with liquid batteries need to be removed, the removed battery must be placed in a safe and hard package by the passenger. If the battery is not packaged properly, it will not be loaded onto the aircraft.
