I typically drink water routinely, but over the past few months, I’ve admittedly fallen out of the rhythm and flow of staying hydrated throughout the day. I could blame it on my schedule, blame it on reaching for non-H20 beverages, or come up with another excuse — but it still won’t change the fact that I’ve simply placed water on the back burner. I’ve
tried and succeeded
with flavored water and reusable bottles, but when I’m working from home, there’s nothing wrong with a good old fashioned cup of plain water (when I actually remember to drink it). Known for their award-winning
water-filtering straw for the outdoors
,
LifeStraw
has made the jump into home products seamlessly in a way that holds attention. The
giftable LifeStraw Home Pitcher
is
an editor-favorite
, and since introducing the
LifeStraw Home Dispenser
into my own kitchen, I’ve had some fantastic results that
include
getting back on track with water each day.
What I consider instant perks with the
LifeStraw Home Dispenser
are its narrow profile and that it stays in the refrigerator (almost) at all times. Unless I need to clean the shelf or replace a dispenser filter, it’s not necessary for me to remove the water pitcher from its spot — not even for refills. There’s a lid that slides open at the top, and all I have to do is pour in some tap water to flow through the filters into the basin. The dispenser holds a little over a gallon of water (18 cups total), so the less I have to move it, the better. It sits neatly on the left side of my fridge and takes up space from front to back, which leaves the rest of the upper shelf available for my other cold items. Since I started using the Home Dispenser, my refrigerator is the first stop I make after starting my day. The water flows out with the press of a button through a spout at the base, so I can pour myself a cup in seconds without lifting a pitcher out of the fridge.

To keep water clean and fresh, there are two filters in the
LifeStraw Home Dispenser
that work their magic to remove bacteria, parasites, and microplastics. They also reduce chemicals, mercury, lead, dirt, chlorine, pesticides, and more —
without
diminishing the good elements, such as magnesium and potassium. Believe it or not, the filters also reduce cloudiness in your water, so you can actually
see
how clean it is! The activated carbon ion filter lasts up to 40 gallons and should be replaced every two months, and the powerful membrane microfilter lasts a whopping 264 gallons, which means it only needs to be replaced once a year. Best of all, both filters are under $25 apiece, and can be purchased
as a subscription
or
a bundle
so you don’t have to worry about not having a new filter at home when it’s time to swap them out.
I live in an area where the tap water fortunately isn’t icky and is safe to drink, but there is a noticeable difference in how the water tastes after going through the
Home Dispenser
. Every cup is refreshingly clean and cool (and surprisingly clearer), and I look forward to using it as often as I can. The payoff is HUGE for a $65 water pitcher, and it’s beyond worth it. I’ve been recommending it to everyone I know!

I’ve [tried and succeeded](https://www.thekitchn.com/waterdrop-starter-set-glass-review-23480401) with flavored water and reusable bottles, but when I’m working from home, there’s nothing wrong with a good old fashioned cup of plain water (when I actually remember to drink it). Known for their award-winning [water-filtering straw for the outdoors](https://atmedia.link/product?url=https%3A%2F%2Flifestraw.com%2Fproducts%2Flifestraw&referralSource=&id=23497280&site=KT&refUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thekitchn.com%2Flifestraw-home-dispenser-review-23497280), [LifeStraw](https://atmedia.link/product?url=https%3A%2F%2Flifestraw.com%2F&referralSource=&id=23497280&site=KT&refUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thekitchn.com%2Flifestraw-home-dispenser-review-23497280) has made the jump into home products seamlessly in a way that holds attention. The [giftable LifeStraw Home Pitcher](https://www.thekitchn.com/this-danish-designed-kitchen-essential-is-the-pretty-practical-gift-im-giving-everyone-on-my-list-23464276) is [an editor-favorite](https://www.thekitchn.com/the-sleek-59-kitchen-upgrade-i-wish-i-had-made-years-ago-23319762), and since introducing the [LifeStraw Home Dispenser](https://atmedia.link/product?url=https%3A%2F%2Flifestraw.com%2Fproducts%2Flifestraw-home-dispenser&referralSource=&id=23497280&site=KT&refUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thekitchn.com%2Flifestraw-home-dispenser-review-23497280) into my own kitchen, I’ve had some fantastic results that *include* getting back on track with water each day.

What I consider instant perks with the [LifeStraw Home Dispenser](https://atmedia.link/product?url=https%3A%2F%2Flifestraw.com%2Fproducts%2Flifestraw-home-dispenser&referralSource=&id=23497280&site=KT&refUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thekitchn.com%2Flifestraw-home-dispenser-review-23497280) are its narrow profile and that it stays in the refrigerator (almost) at all times.

To keep water clean and fresh, there are two filters in the [LifeStraw Home Dispenser](https://atmedia.link/product?url=https%3A%2F%2Flifestraw.com%2Fproducts%2Flifestraw-home-dispenser&referralSource=&id=23497280&site=KT&refUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thekitchn.com%2Flifestraw-home-dispenser-review-23497280) that work their magic to remove bacteria, parasites, and microplastics. They also reduce chemicals, mercury, lead, dirt, chlorine, pesticides, and more — *without* diminishing the good elements, such as magnesium and potassium. Believe it or not, the filters also reduce cloudiness in your water, so you can actually *see* how clean it is! The activated carbon ion filter lasts up to 40 gallons and should be replaced every two months, and the powerful membrane microfilter lasts a whopping 264 gallons, which means it only needs to be replaced once a year. Best of all, both filters are under \$25 apiece, and can be purchased [as a subscription](https://atmedia.link/product?url=https%3A%2F%2Flifestraw.com%2Fproducts%2Fsubscription&referralSource=&id=23497280&site=KT&refUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thekitchn.com%2Flifestraw-home-dispenser-review-23497280) or [a bundle](https://atmedia.link/product?url=https%3A%2F%2Flifestraw.com%2Fproducts%2Flifestraw-home-replacement-filters%3Fvariant%3D40774922109039&referralSource=&id=23497280&site=KT&refUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thekitchn.com%2Flifestraw-home-dispenser-review-23497280) so you don’t have to worry about not having a new filter at home when it’s time to swap them out.
I live in an area where the tap water fortunately isn’t icky and is safe to drink, but there is a noticeable difference in how the water tastes after going through the [Home Dispenser](https://atmedia.link/product?url=https%3A%2F%2Flifestraw.com%2Fproducts%2Flifestraw-home-dispenser&referralSource=&id=23497280&site=KT&refUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thekitchn.com%2Flifestraw-home-dispenser-review-23497280). Every cup is refreshingly clean and cool (and surprisingly clearer), and I look forward to using it as often as I can. The payoff is HUGE for a \$65 water pitcher, and it’s beyond worth it. I’ve been recommending it to everyone I know\!
