Click the File menu and then choose Run new task in Windows 8 or 10 (or Create new task in Windows 7). Click the File menu and then choose Run new task in Windows 8 or 10 (or Create new task in Windows 7). Type explorer.exe into the run box and hit OK to relaunch Windows Explorer. New 28 Feb 2021 #3 Try this: 1. Open Task Manager 2. Go to "File" --> "Run new task" 3. Type "cmd" & press Enter 4. Type "taskkill /im explorer.exe /f" & press Enter 5. Type "explorer.exe" & press Enter New 28 Feb 2021 #4 ..or scroll down to Windows Explorer and right click and select restart. New 28 Feb 2021 #5 Thank you so much! "Run new task" did it!! New 01 Mar 2021 #6 another easy way to kill tasks, download and install Winaero Tweaker(free) and theres a setting to add a Kill non responding tasks using the desktop right click menu. When you place your cursor on the desktop anywhere and right click the option is at the top of the list, Very handy and you dont have to go through all those steps and well Winaero Tweaker has alot of cool Windows tweaks. Just posting a different suggestion, Im sure your ok with what was suggested here.
