Much like your computer or other electronic devices, some of these problems can be fixed by simply turning the iPhone off and on again. Our tutorial below will show you how to do a soft reset on your iPhone so that you can see if that fixes the issue that you have been experiencing. ## How to Restart Your iPhone 1. Find the Power button and the Volume Up button. 2. Press and hold both buttons for several seconds. 3. Drag the Slide to Power Off slider to the right. 4. Wait until the device turns off completely. 5. Press and hold the Power button until you see the white Apple logo. However, this method is the same for other iPhone models using iOS 10, as well as iPhone models running most other versions of iOS. Restarting your iPhone is something that you should only need to do occasionally. The iPhone is designed to remain on for very long periods of time, so it is best to only restart the phone if you are experiencing a problem that you think might be fixed in this manner. ### Step 1: Locate the Power button on the top or side of your iPhone. The location will vary depending on your iPhone model. It will take several seconds for the iPhone to turn off completely, and you may see a spinning circle of dashes at the center of the screen as the iPhone processes are terminated and the device shuts off. ### Step 4: Press and hold the Power button again to turn the phone back on.
