Whereas, most first-time tandem skydives are performed anywhere from 8,000 to 14,000 feet, with the average skydiving height being 10,000 feet. \nFor tandem skydivers there are usually minimums and maximums set in place as to make consideration for extra weight and for comfort reasons:\nTandem Skydiving Height Minimum\nMost solo skydivers need a minimum altitude of 2,500 feet in order to have enough time to make important ‘safe-landing’ decisions. Considering the increased weight of the tandem instructor\nand\npassenger on a tandem jump, the minimum altitude needed to have enough time to ensure proper canopy opening increases significantly, with the average being around 5,500 feet. Therefore, the skydiving height limit for tandem jumpers begins at a minimum altitude of 8,000 ft.
