Douglas Zimmerman/SFGATE In what has become a yearly ritual hotly anticipated by San Francisco music fans, the city’s premier music festival, [Outside Lands](https://www.sfgate.com/sf-culture/article/best-worst-outside-lands-2025-20811362.php), has shared a cryptic image on [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/p/DVMkXDeEiEE/?hl=en&img_index=1) offering clues to this year’s lineup, which is slated to be released in full on March 3. And, of course, [Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/OutsideLands/comments/1rer14x/lineup_clues/) has some thoughts. The clues, presented in three photo slides designed by illustrator [Halsey Berryman](https://www.instagram.com/halseyberryman), feature a slew of images: the cross-section of a tree trunk, red dice, dumplings — or bao — and chopsticks, a rodent, red blooming flowers, banana slugs, a white cowboy hat, and a mallard, just to name a few. Article continues below this ad The most popular theory posits that the rodent is actually a capybara, an animal that’s become synonymous with Blackpink star Jennie (the dumplings may also line up). The red dice match the artwork for a single from New Zealand rockers Balu Brigada, while others noted that the roll of 2, 1 and 3 might imply the Los Angeles area code and a reference to Snoop Dogg (213 was the name of his project with Warren G and Nate Dogg). Another commenter connects the headphones to Addison Rae’s song “Headphones On.” The mallard and flock of birds in the background could mean Duckwrth, Duck Sauce, Ducks Ltd or perhaps even rock band of the moment Geese. Some wishful thinkers tied the white cowboy hat to Mitski’s album “Be the Cowboy,” while others proposed Kacey Musgraves.
