Fare Payment
For Bus Rides
Cash Payment
Please have exact fare ready and tell the Bus Captain your fare. Retain your ticket for fare checks.
Fare Card Payment
Regular EZ-Link cards: Do ensure that there is sufficient value in your card. Minimally, you must have sufficient value to cover the fare from the point of boarding to the end of the bus route/interchange.
Concession cards: Please ensure that your card has a sufficient balance to be accepted at bus card readers. For details on the minimum card balance required, please visit the SimplyGo website

For Train Rides
Single Trip Ticket

Fare Card Payment
Regular EZ-Link cards: Do ensure that there is a minimum value of $3.00 in the card.
Concession cards: Please ensure that your card has a sufficient balance to be accepted at MRT/LRT fare gates. For details on the minimum card balance required, please visit the SimplyGo website

Underpayment, non-payment or misuse of concession card
A penalty fee of $50.00 will be imposed by the Public Transport Council.
Distance Fares
Fares are calculated based on the distance, which brings about a more integrated fare structure that allows commuters to make transfers without incurring additional costs. Distance Fares are computed on a journey basis, without a boarding charge being imposed for every transfer trip that makes up the journey.
Transfer Rules
A transfer can be from:
MRT/LRT to a bus service
MRT/LRT to another MRT/LRT
a bus service to another bus service
a bus service to MRT/LRT
To enjoy Distance Fares:
Pay with the same stored value fare card.
You may make up to five transfers within a single journey.
You can only take up to 2 hours to complete your journey.
Current bus service must not be the same number as the preceding bus service.
Multiple rail transfers are allowed with no additional boarding charges.
Up to 45-minute is allowed for each transfer between rail and bus services, or between different bus services.
A maximum of 15 minutes is allowed for transfers between different rail stations.
No exit and re-entry at the same station.
For Newton, Tampines and Bukit Panjang Stations, you will have to tap out and in within 15 minutes to make a transfer to the other line without incurring a new boarding charge.

#### Distance Fares
Fares are calculated based on the distance, which brings about a more integrated fare structure that allows commuters to make transfers without incurring additional costs. Distance Fares are computed on a journey basis, without a boarding charge being imposed for every transfer trip that makes up the journey.
#### Transfer Rules
A transfer can be from:
- MRT/LRT to a bus service
- MRT/LRT to another MRT/LRT
- a bus service to another bus service
- a bus service to MRT/LRT
To enjoy Distance Fares:
- Pay with the same stored value fare card.
- You may make up to five transfers within a single journey.
- You can only take up to 2 hours to complete your journey.
- Current bus service must not be the same number as the preceding bus service.
- Multiple rail transfers are allowed with no additional boarding charges.
- Up to 45-minute is allowed for each transfer between rail and bus services, or between different bus services.
- A maximum of 15 minutes is allowed for transfers between different rail stations.
- No exit and re-entry at the same station.
- For Newton, Tampines and Bukit Panjang Stations, you will have to tap out and in within 15 minutes to make a transfer to the other line without incurring a new boarding charge.
