If you’ll be driving in another country, it’s always a good idea to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) before you head off. An IDP is a translation of your valid Australian drivers licence which carries your identification details in nine languages (English, Spanish, Japanese, Greek, German, Arabic, Russian, Chinese, French) which can be useful in case you need to communicate with foreign authorities.
