Readable Markdown	French is the common and official language of Québec. Communicating in French allows for full participation in Québec society, particularly in the job market. The Government of Québec offers free French courses to all persons 16 years of age and older who are living in Québec, who are not subject to mandatory school attendance and who wish to receive French learning services, as well as to persons who are planning to settle in Québec. These courses may be eligible for financial assistance under certain conditions. ## French courses offered from Québec Select the type of course that interests you. Intended for Persons 16 years and older at the time of course registration and living in Québec Duration 10 weeks of classes per session Schedule 25 to 30 hours of classes per week, Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Financial Assistance Financial assistance available to immigrants under certain conditions Training location In class, anywhere in Québec, and by distance learning if necessary Levels Beginner and intermediate levels Intended for Persons 16 years and older at the time of course registration and living in Québec Duration 8 to 12 weeks of classes per session Schedule 4 to 24 hours of classes per week, day and evening; Weekdays or weekends Financial Assistance Financial assistance available to immigrants under certain conditions Training location In class, anywhere in Québec, and by distance learning if necessary Levels Beginner and intermediate levels Intended for Persons 16 years and older at the time of course registration and living in Québec Duration Learning at your own pace Levels Intermediate and advanced levels Intended for Persons 16 years and older at the time of course registration and living in Québec Duration 10 weeks of classes per session Schedule 2 courses of 3 hours each, for a total of 6 hours per week Financial Assistance Financial assistance available to immigrants under certain conditions.
