Home Paris Hotels 6th Arrondissement Where to Stay near Saint-Germain-des-PrĂ©s Church, Luxembourg Garden, & Saint-Sulpice Church Choosing to stay in a Saint Germain hotel or apartment in Paris's 6th arrondissement gives you easy access to all the wonderful attractions and things to do in this posh and ĂŒber-popular neighborhood.   It's an ideal base for first-time visitors, especially since English is widely spoken here. Depending on which hotel you choose, you'll be close to the lush Luxembourg Garden, the magnificent Saint-Sulpice Church of Da Vinci Code fame, and the district's many luxury designer boutiques and antique stores. Sip a drink on the terrace in front of Les Deux Magots, once frequented by Hemingway, Sartre, and Camus, admire the fresh produce and cheeses in the neighborhood markets, and dine at a different bistro or restaurant every evening.  Or just stroll around and admire the gorgeous architecture, check out the vibrant Rue Buci food street, and discover Saint-Germain's hidden gems such as Cour de Commerce Saint-AndrĂ©, one of my own favorite spots spots to explore in this district. Keep in mind, the 6th borders the Seine River.  You can easily walk across the Pont Neuf bridge to visit Sainte-Chapelle, the Conciergerie, and Notre Dame on Île de la CitĂ© or continue on to the Right Bank where the Louvre Museum is just a 2-minute walk away.  On the Left Bank, the Orsay Museum, Army Museum, and Latin Quarter are nearby, and numerous metro stations give you easy access to the rest of Paris. My recommendations for the best hotels and places to stay in Saint Germain des PreĂ©s highlights 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star hotels and apartments with wonderful terraces, views, and other special amenities plus a top-value 2-star property that's one of my personal favorites. Whatever your own style or budget, you're sure to find the perfect place for your stay in Paris! Where to Stay in Paris 6th District HĂŽtel Madison   ★★★★ Hotel Madison in the heart of Saint-Germain 143 Boulevard Saint-Germain, Saint Germain neighborhood Hotel Madison offers a wonderful location across from Église Saint-Germain-des-PrĂ©s, a lovely church with a tower built in the year 1000 where you can attend classical concerts throughout the year and visit a wonderful pop-up Christmas market starting in mid-November.  You're also conveniently close (ie, a 10-minute walk or less) to Notre Dame, the Orsay Museum, and Sainte-Chapelle.  The famous Les Deux Magots cafe frequented by Hemingway, Sartre, and Camus is on the opposite corner, and you'll find literally hundreds of other excellent bistros and restaurants within a 5-minute walk of the hotel - so have fun choosing! Although the hotel's address implies that it's located on Boulevard Saint-Germain, one of the neighborhood's busier streets, it's actually set back on a smaller lane called Rue Gozlin where a green strip with a statue helps insulate it from the traffic. This 50-room boutique hotel in the 6th arrondissement Paris features modern furnishings , luxurious fabrics, and serene decor, with balconies in some guestrooms overlooking the church.  Fun Fact:   Each bathroom has artisan-made basins, each a unique color and shape.  Big Bonus:   Hotel Madison offers free laundry facilities for guests to use. Book Now Find out more about the Saint-Germain Christmas market Hotel Saint Andre des Arts   ★★★ ★ Hotel Saint-Andre-des-Arts near Hotel Dame des Arts 66 Rue Saint AndrĂ© des Arts, 6th arrondissement Located directly across the street from an entrance to the Cour de Commerce Saint-AndrĂ©, a partly-covered historical passage lined with wonderful bistros and unique boutiques, the highly rated 4-star Hotel Saint AndrĂ© des Arts puts you in an ideal location in the heart of Paris's Saint Germain neighborhood. You're within a 5-minute walk of Sainte-Chapelle, where you'll see the most beautiful stained glass in Paris and perhaps catch a classical concert, and less than 10 minutes from Notre Dame Cathedral.  Other nearby top attractions (10-12 minutes or less on foot) include the Seine River, Luxembourg Garden, the Louvre, and the Marais. Hotel Saint-Andre des Arts' 30 guestrooms feature comfortable furnishings and decor with an Art Deco vibe, and come in a variety of sizes including family rooms.   Several sleep up to four, but if you need more space, adjoining quarters can be arranged.  Like all 4-star and higher hotels, it has air conditioning. Book Now Hotel Saint AndrĂ© des Arts belongs to a small Paris hotel "family" which includes five other popular 3- and 4-star hotels on the Left Bank:  Les Dames du Pantheon, Hotel des Grandes Hommes, Hotel Baume, Hotel & Spa La Belle Juliette, and Hotel Design Sorbonne. Hotel Sainte-Beuve   ★★★ ★ The bar and lobby at Hotel Sainte-Beuve, featuring design elements by English decorator David Hicks 9 Rue Sainte-Beuve, 6th arrondissement Tucked away on a quiet street about a 3-minute walk from Luxembourg Garden, 4-star Hotel Sainte-Beuve offers a tranquil location in the Saint Germain neighborhood. I stayed here a few years ago with one of my daughters.  We loved the nearby friendly, laid-back neighborhood bars and bistros recommended by the hotel staff, along with two of Paris's most seafood restaurants, La Rotonde (perfect for lingering over a late-afternoon drink on their shady terrace) and La Coupole.  We also loved being able to stroll through Luxembourg Garden on a daily basis. Flower shop on Boulevard Raspail near Hotel Sainte-Beuve Nearby you'll also find a variety of the Left Bank's top attractions:  the Catacombs, the splendid Bon MarchĂ© department store and Grand Epicerie market filled with gourmet treats, the Latin Quarter, the majestic Saint-Sulpice Church, and of course, all the wonderful Saint-Germain bistros, wine bars, and boutiques. Sainte-Beuve's 22 guestrooms feature plush modern beds mixed with vintage and antique furnishings and high-quality fabrics.  You'll almost feel as though you're staying in someone's tastefully-decorated home. Guestroom at Hotel Sainte-Beuve You can choose from a variety of guestroom sizes and configurations - everything from compact, very affordable rooms to spacious larger rooms and suites to a family room for up to 4 guests.  For a special treat, book a room with a balcony (although you have to book earlier than I did to get one). Breakfast features organic ingredients, and is served at tables in the bar and lobby. Book Now Hotel Le Relais Saint Germain    ★★★ ★ Rue Saint-Andre-des-Arts near Hotel Dame des Arts 9 Carrefour de l'Odeon, 6th arrondissement The 4-star, 22-guestroom Hotel Le Relais Saint Germain is the creation of Chef Yves Camdeborde, famous for introducing a then-new type of elevated bistro fare he called "bistronomy" (bistro + gastronomic) that now sets the standard for its use of the freshest ingredients, creative preparations, and general deliciousness. Similar to the balance of tradition and fresh flavors in Chef Camdeborde's cuisine (which you can enjoy in his famous ground-floor bistro, Le Comptoir), the hotel embodies the perfect mix of natural stone, authentic timbers, and luxurious comfort. Guest rooms are plush, elegant, and rustic, all at the same time, and like the food in Le Comptoir, an experience you'll remember long into the future. Book Now Hotel Madame Bonsoir   ★★★ ★ Rue Saint-Andre-des-Arts near Hotel Dame des Arts 65 Rue Madame, 6th arrondissement When you want to enjoy all of the attractions of Paris's super-popular Saint-Germain neighborhood but enjoy daily strolls in one of the city's most beautiful parks, consider the 4-star Hotel Bonsoir Madame, located on a quiet side street just one block from Luxembourg Garden.  It's a particularly good location for families too, thanks to the park's kid-friendly amenities. Toy sailboats on the reflecting pool in Luxembourg Garden You'll also enjoy the small nearby bistros that are popular with the locals in this sought-after neighborhood. Guestrooms feature high-quality furnishings and bright botanical motifs.  To enjoy your own terrace, book a room on the 6th floor. Book Now Hotel Dame des Arts   ★★★ ★ Rue Saint-Andre-des-Arts near Hotel Dame des Arts 4 Rue Danton, 6th arrondissement With an onsite restaurant, courtyard garden, and, best of all, a rooftop bar with spectacular 360 views of Paris including iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the 4-star Hotel Dame des Arts also offers a fantastic Latin Quarter location about a 2-minute walk from the Seine River.  Cross the Seine, and you're on Ile de la CitĂ©, where you can experience the magnificent stained glass and candlelight concerts at Sainte-Chapelle, the gothic splendor of Notre Dame, and tranquil Place Dauphine, one of Paris's hidden gems. Guestrooms come in all sizes, ranging from affordable small rooms to quite spacious suites, as well as adjoining rooms.  The hotel also includes a fitness room and electric bike rentals. For a special treat, book a terrace room with sweeping city views.  The show-stoppers are the four top-floor Premium Signature Terrace Eiffel Tower View guestrooms with Eiffel Tower views. Book Now HĂŽtel Lutecia   ★★★★ ★   Palace Hotel Hotel Lutecia overlooking the Paris skyline and Eiffel Tower 45 Boulevard Raspail, 6th Arrondissement After a massive top-to-bottom renovation , 5-star HĂŽtel Lutecia - the Left Bank's only luxury "Palace" hotel - is more spectacular than ever with 184 large guestrooms and suites featuring posh blue and gray decor, comfortable furnishings, and marble baths with deep tubs and huge windows overlooking iconic Paris vistas. Equally fabulous are the new public spaces - a luxurious all-marble spa with a hammam, sauna, and sun-lit indoor swimming pool, and a welcoming Jazz Bar.   A Michelin-starred chef now heads the hotel's brasserie, once a favorite Saint-Germain-des-PrĂ©s hang-out for Hemingway, Matisse, Camus, and Josephine Baker.   One of the biggest show-stoppers:  original Romanesque frescoes  discovered under layers of paint in the 100+ year old hotel and now meticulously restored for all to enjoy in Bar JosĂ©phine. Book Now "Poodle & Blonde" Apartment near Luxembourg Garden in Paris 6 Poodle & Blonde apartment in Paris's 6th district - Photo courtesy of Plum Guide Book a stay in the chic "Poodle & Blonde" apartment and you'll be be right in the middle of the coveted Saint Germain des PrĂ©s neighborhood near the romantic Luxembourg Garden , luxury shopping at nearby designer boutiques and art galleries, and all the iconic cafes and bistros from the neighborhood's bohemian past.   Sip a glass of wine at Les Deux Magots where Hemingway, Sartre, and Baldwin hung out, explore the bookstores and trendy nightspots in the Latin Quarter, and then return here at the end of the day to relax in your own comfortable "pied Ă  terre."  This spacious 1-bedroom apartment sleeps up to 2 people, and features a comfortable US queen (French king) bed, beautiful chevron wood floors, beamed ceilings, a sleek modern kitchen, and a washer/drier. The hotel's superb location on a quiet street only 1-block long is in an area filled with art galleries, boutiques, and bistros at the edge of the Latin Quarter near the Seine River.  The famous specialty tea store, Mariage FrĂšres Rive Gauche, is at the end of the block - refreshments in their tea room or a meal in their restaurant is always a wonderful experience, so put it on your calendar.  Of course, you're also close to other top attractions:   Notre Dame, Sainte-Chapelle, the Conciergerie, MusĂ©e Cluny, and one of the 6th arrondissement's best-kept secrets - Cour de Commerce Saint-AndrĂ© , an almost hidden passage where some of France's top philosophers, artists, writers, and revolutionaries once hung out. Book Now Hotel ClĂ©ment   ★★ 2-Star HĂŽtel Clemont in the 6th Arrondissement 6 Rue ClĂ©ment, Saint Germain neighborhood With a wonderful location on a quiet side street in the heart of Saint-Germain near Saint-Sulpice Church, boutique HĂŽtel ClĂ©ment features 28 mostly small but nicely furnished guest rooms and suites perfect for families with comfortable beds, air conditioning, an elevator, in-room safes, and a concierge at the front desk - far more than you might normally expect in a 2-star Paris hotel. The hotel serves a lavish breakfast with many choices and gourmet products (totally unlike most two-star hotels).  You'll also find plenty of other breakfast choices in the neighborhood, including the MarchĂ© Saint-Germain covered market across the street and a variety of bakeries if you just want to grab a croissant and coffee.  And of course for other meals, this neighborhood has seemingly endless choices of wonderful bistros and restaurants. Hotel ClĂ©ment is a true gem, and sister hotel to the excellent and much fancier 4 star Hotel MoliĂšre on the Right Bank.  This budget-friendly boutique property in Saint-Germain gives you top value for your money. I had a wonderful stay here a few years ago but since that time, I've never been able to get reservations for the dates I needed.  If you want to stay here, my advice is to book as soon as you know your dates - and hope that you'll be luckier than me! Book Now Find more Budget-Friendly Paris Hotels HĂŽtel Baume ★★★ ★ 7 Rue Casimir Delavigne, 6th arrondissement Look for a romantic Art Deco 1930s vibe thanks to the lush fabrics and glamourous touches of gold in the 35 rooms and suites at 4-star Hotel Baume.   For a special treat, pamper yourself by reserving a suite with a spacious private balcony overlooking the nearby historical Odeon Theatre and the hotel's own garden patio. [Home](https://www.parisdiscoveryguide.com/index.html) 2. [Paris Hotels](https://www.parisdiscoveryguide.com/paris-hotels.html) 3. 6th Arrondissement # Best Paris Hotels & Apartments Saint Germain Where to Stay near Saint-Germain-des-PrĂ©s Church, Luxembourg Garden, & Saint-Sulpice Church Choosing to stay in a **Saint Germain hotel** or apartment in Paris's 6th arrondissement gives you easy access to all the wonderful attractions and things to do in this **posh and ĂŒber-popular neighborhood.** It's an ideal base for first-time visitors, especially since English is widely spoken here. Depending on which hotel you choose, you'll be close to the lush **Luxembourg Garden,** the magnificent **Saint-Sulpice Church** of *Da Vinci Code* fame, and the district's many luxury **designer boutiques** and **antique stores.** Sip a drink on the terrace in front of **Les Deux Magots,** once frequented by Hemingway, Sartre, and Camus, admire the fresh produce and cheeses in the **neighborhood markets,** and dine at a different **bistro or restaurant** every evening. Or just stroll around and admire the gorgeous **architecture,** check out the vibrant **Rue Buci food street,** and discover Saint-Germain's hidden gems such as **Cour de Commerce Saint-AndrĂ©,** one of my own favorite spots spots to explore in this district. Keep in mind, the 6th borders the **Seine River.** You can easily walk across the **Pont Neuf bridge** to visit **Sainte-Chapelle,** the **Conciergerie,** and **Notre Dame** on **Île de la CitĂ©** or continue on to the **Right Bank** where the **Louvre Museum** is just a 2-minute walk away. Whatever your own style or budget, you're sure to find the perfect place for your stay in Paris\! You're also conveniently close (ie, a 10-minute walk or less) to Notre Dame, the Orsay Museum, and Sainte-Chapelle. The famous **Les Deux Magots** cafe frequented by Hemingway, Sartre, and Camus is on the opposite corner, and you'll find literally hundreds of other excellent bistros and restaurants within a 5-minute walk of the hotel - so have fun choosing\! Although the hotel's address implies that it's located on Boulevard Saint-Germain, one of the neighborhood's busier streets, it's actually set back on a smaller lane called Rue Gozlin where a green strip with a statue helps insulate it from the traffic. This **50-room boutique hotel in the 6th arrondissement Paris** features **modern furnishings**, luxurious fabrics, and serene decor, with **balconies** in some guestrooms overlooking the church. **Fun Fact:** Each bathroom has artisan-made basins, each a unique color and shape. **Big Bonus:** Hotel Madison offers free laundry facilities for guests to use. [Paris Hotels](https://www.parisdiscoveryguide.com/paris-hotels.html) 3. 6th Arrondissement Where to Stay near Saint-Germain-des-PrĂ©s Church, Luxembourg Garden, & Saint-Sulpice Church Choosing to stay in a **Saint Germain hotel** or apartment in Paris's 6th arrondissement gives you easy access to all the wonderful attractions and things to do in this **posh and ĂŒber-popular neighborhood.** It's an ideal base for first-time visitors, especially since English is widely spoken here.
