[Obituaries](https://www.nwaonline.com/obits/today/) ## Mary Drew Myer ![Photo of Mary Drew Myer](https://wehco.media.clients.ellingtoncms.com/img/obits/2026/03/07/marymyer1_20260308jpeg_laef1Zk_t300.jpg?8aff03de2423e912a2467e97388a07f5331c05b6) Mary Drew Myer, 69, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walker Bryan Myer and Barbara King Myer. She is survived by her sister, Jayne Young (Tommy); her children, Elliot Smith (Trista) and Kendall Smith (Steven); and her cherished granddaughter, Emerson Frankel. Drew devoted her professional career to the Arkansas public school system, where she formed lasting bonds with colleagues and the many students she counseled. She had a creative spirit and a deep love for animals, and those who knew her will remember the individuality and unique perspective she brought to the lives she touched. Welcoming her granddaughter, Emerson, brought her a special joy toward the end of her life. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who loved and cared for her over the years. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fayetteville Public Education Foundation at fayedfoundation.org.
