I have enjoyed from Freshman year on Coe Campus. I came from a small community and felt very comfortable one the campus. My professors are very easy to communicate with and are always willing to help me if I need it. I have also been luck to be able to participate in athletics while attending school. The dorms could use a little update but other than that I can't think of anything that I would like to see change.

Coe isn’t very accommodating to their students, even though they “pride themselves on their accommodations”. I have repeatedly been ignored or brushed off when concerns about the dormitories, my dorm room, or my mental health accommodations were brought up. The only things I can say I like about this college are the students and classes. Everything else barely/doesn’t meet basic necessity.

I tranfered to Coe from Mount Mercy. I didn't have much of an option when transferring due to personal reasons so I went with Coe. They had made me multiple false promises, the transfer process was a huge struggle, and they didn't give me comfort with my nerve wracking transition process. The housing is terrible and there's little help from administration when questions arise. I have had multiple issues with classes and having the right schedule. I have changed advisors about 3 times and I have still ended up running circles around my advisor because they don't know what is fully going on. The food provided is not appetizing and with that Coe is forcing students to pay for a meal plan no matter where you live or what year you are. Many issues at Coe I feel are related to money and it causes issues that are reflected on us students. The best thing about Coe for me has been the people and connections I have made.

Coe has great academics along with professors that care about their students. If you put in the effort professors will take the time to sit down with you until you understand the task at hand. On campus is very safe but the surrounding areas are not the best places to be at night. The facilities and sports are very nice, and sports teams always place academics first. Housing is similar to most colleges, however, there were buildings that needed some updates. The internship and career readiness are great at Coe.

If you want to live in their really nice new apartments- good luck. I think you might have to sell your soul to the devil. The new apartments can house 128 people but Coe likes to screw people over. If you are a senior you have a 50% chance to live there if they don't give away half the apartments to accommodations. Look the campus is decent and I really love the professors here. I enjoy playing athletics here too. But as a senior living in a double next year I am in disbelief. To get an apartment you have to transfer at least 8 credits and then have a 4.0 GPA the whole time you are here. Honestly there are better colleges out there that are similar to Coe and if I could steer the 18 year olds choosing their college to not go here I would be happier.

I think that this school is good only if you are involved in some kind of sport or club. The food is not very good, and the tuition is very high. The housing is messed up every year and as a junior I should not be still living in a dorm room when there are freshman in the nice apartments. Too expensive for what you get, and the tuition goes up every year.

My academic experience at Coe has been wonderful. Small class sizes and a lack of grad/postgrad students means that it is easy to get involved in research. The college holds true to the motto “Coe makes it possible, you make it happen” in this regard. But, there are select few professors who are not as engaged in teaching. Small department sizes make it hard to avoid these professors.
Beyond academics, the college is in need of serious improvement. The school is in a 3 million dollar deficit, 1.5 million of which is to be recovered through faculty cuts. Residence halls are abysmal, many infested with cockroaches and mice . Student Life and the administration have a very high staff turnover rate and lack efficiency. Food quality has decreased over the years. Transparency between the admin and students could be greatly improved.
Coe is good if you value exceptional academic opportunities over good housing, admin, party life, etc. If you can’t make that sacrifice, Coe isn’t for you.

Coe College is a good college if you are here for certain things. They have gotten rid of a lot of majors here as of recently and when you compare it to other schools of the same type it’s small for a small school. The bad: cutting academic programs, low morale within student body and among staff, (required) housing and other buildings are in poor condition, expensive poor quality dining hall food, zero online class options, some staff are dismissive of students’ problems, high staff turnover, lack of transparency from administration, EXPENSIVE
If I were to go back, I think I’d reconsider my college decision.

The campus is kept clean and looking nice, which is appreciated. I do think that there is a lot that needs to change. For instance, the reliance of students on the staff is almost inexistent, especially in the residence life area, since the staff never seems to know much and are not of much help when needed, plus they lack professionalism.

The professors I’ve had are very helpful and want to see me succeed. They’ve worked with me to get my grades up. We have one good frat and they’re parties are okay, expect on the Flunk Day, it’s a 10/10. It’s more of a bar scene and personal circle parties. The food is a 50/50 depends on the day. Everyone is chill. There’s a ton of activities and things to engage in. The town is pretty and local.

My experience at Coe College turned out to be a significant letdown. From the start, I was underwhelmed by the classrooms which felt like they lacked the modern amenities and technological resources I had expected from a reputable liberal arts institution. Additionally, the administration's responsiveness to student concerns seemed lacking, as my inquiries and requests often went unanswered or were met with indifference. The overall atmosphere on campus felt stagnant, lacking the vibrancy and engagement I had hoped to find. Regrettably, my time at Coe College failed to live up to the institution's reputation, leaving me with a sense of disappointment and a desire to seek a more fulfilling academic experience elsewhere.

Coe College presents a mixed bag of experiences according to student reviews. Academically, students appreciate the small class sizes and the accessibility of professors, who are described as caring and invested in student success. The college offers a strong sense of community and opportunities for personal connections, but concerns arise regarding outdated facilities, particularly in housing and dining. Students mentioned issues like mold and declining food quality, and many expressed frustration with the administration's responsiveness to student needs. While the tight-knit environment is comforting, some felt that the overall campus vibrancy was lacking, with limited social activities, especially for those seeking a party scene. Financial concerns were noted as tuition is considered high relative to the amenities provided. Overall, Coe College seems best suited for students prioritizing a supportive academic experience over a bustling social life.Summary is AI generated from the text of student reviews on Niche. summary inaccuracies

The professors are extremely available and any time I have needed something they've been there. They also make sure to recommend and help students get outside class experience.

I think it is a very sub-urb college. There is not a lot going on but every now and then there are huge groups of people flocking in. The summers are more evetful.

Coe College has been an absolute blast! One of the best parts of the college is the willingness for professors to help their students outside of office hours. I am glad I chose to Coe and would suggest this spot to anyone looking for a smaller school experience.

I can’t say much about the party scene as I’m not much of a party person because I spend more time with my education than partying. But I do like the variety of clubs on campus\!

Coe College is a good college if you are here for certain things. They have gotten rid of a lot of majors here as of recently and when you compare it to other schools of the same type it’s small for a small school. They also serve the same thing in the dining hall almost everyday and it gets pretty boring and repetitive after a while.

I graduated from Coe in 2024. I have a lot of mixed feelings about my college experience. I met a lot of amazing people at Coe and had some really cool opportunities, but a lot of things about the school bother me.
The good: professors were (in my experience) very caring and engaged in students’ learning, ample opportunities to get involved in student orgs, students (again, for the most part) care for each other, lots of amazing staff who really care, lots of green space on campus, great off-campus study options (though they are cutting back on some of these), lots of scholarships

I like that it's a very welcoming and inclusive environment. It's very nice that professors are so accessible and willing to help you with homework or upcoming assignments and exams. There are also a number of resources like tutors and interactive classes taught by students who have previously taken that same class so you're getting help with people who know exactly what kinds of materials you'll be working with.

I'm a transfer student, first generation student too. Feel there isn't much student life unless you life on campus or eat on campus and have been integrated into the student life another way.

The campus is kept clean and looking nice, which is appreciated. I do think that there is a lot that needs to change. For instance, the reliance of students on the staff is almost inexistent, especially in the residence life area, since the staff never seems to know much and are not of much help when needed, plus they lack professionalism.
