An Insider (Concession) membership offers discounted membership sign-up and renewal fees to full-time students, children aged 7–12 years, and seniors aged 60 years and above. Getting or renewing your membership **How do I become a member?** You can sign up by creating an account on our [online membership portal](https://galleryinsider.nationalgallery.sg/MemberPortal/) or in-person at our Tours & Programmes counter located at L1, near the Coleman Street entrance. Membership sales at the counter are from 10am – 6.30pm. We are open daily. To join as an Explorer member, simply create a [Gallery membership account](https://galleryinsider.nationalgallery.sg/MemberPortal/). To join as an Insider, log in to your Gallery Explorer account and select ‘Sign up for Insider membership’. Once payment is made, your membership type will be upgraded to ‘Gallery Insider’ for 12 months. **How do I renew my Insider Membership?** Insider membership renewals can be made up to 60 days before the membership expires. We will send you an email reminder when it is time to renew your membership. Renewal can be done via the online portal or at our Tours & Programmes counter. Renewals made 31 days or more before the expiry of membership will enjoy an early bird renewal rate. This entitles the member to a 30% discount off the original membership fee. Renewals made 30 days or less from the membership expiry date will enjoy a standard renewal rate, which entitles the member to a 20% discount. If you do not renew your Insider membership, your membership type will automatically revert to ‘Gallery Explorer’ once your membership expires. You can still enjoy the limited Explorer tier benefits. To become an Insider again, log in to your profile and go to ‘Sign up for Insider Membership’. **Do I need to renew my Explorer membership?** Explorer memberships do not expire, so you do not need to renew it. Membership renewal only applies to the Insider membership. Once renewed, Insiders can enjoy the full range of benefits for another 12 months. **What is your refund policy?** We regret that the membership fee is not refundable. Using your membership **Will I get a membership card when I sign up?** A physical card is not issued. Instead, your can use the e-card on the [Member's Portal](https://galleryinsider.nationalgallery.sg/). If you would like to have a physical card, it can be printed for you at our Tours & Programmes counter for an administrative fee of \$2. *\*Note: The physical card option is available for Insiders only. There is no physical card for Explorers.* **As a member, how can I find out about upcoming exhibitions and events?** We send out regular email updates to members, with details of upcoming events, exhibitions, and special offers. Please make sure to subscribe for email updates when signing up. **Can I lend my membership card or account to someone else?** Only the named member may use their membership card. Membership cards should not be passed on to another party. Your membership may be de-activated if abuse of the card is suspected. Visiting the exhibitions **Do I need to pay for special exhibitions?** Insiders enjoy free and unlimited access to all exhibitions, including special exhibitions. Explorers must pay for special exhibitions. Periodically, there may be admission benefits for Explorers, so make sure to stay subscribed to our membership newsletter. The latest promotions and benefits will be shared there. **Do I need to book tickets prior to visiting special exhibitions?** Insiders do not need to book tickets prior to visiting. All you have to do is log into your [Member's Portal](https://galleryinsider.nationalgallery.sg/) and scan your membership QR code at the self-service kiosks when you arrive. You will be issued an Insider Pass on the spot, that grants you access to all exhibitions. For Explorers, please book tickets online to obtain a QR code, which will be sent to your email. At the Gallery, scan this QR code at the self-service kiosks to receive your ticket. **I have just joined as a member and want to visit the special exhibition today. Is the membership valid immediately?** Yes, the Insider membership is valid from the moment you purchase it. You may visit special exhibitions immediately without paying an admission fee. For Explorers, admission fees still apply to special exhibitions. Member benefits **What special events are there for members?** We plan a variety of events each year specially for Insiders. Event admission fees may apply and admission is subject to availability. Get updates about what’s happening via the member newsletters. Explorer members may be invited to certain member events. News about these will be shared in our newsletters, so look out for some exciting updates. **Do members get special discounts in the shops and cafes?** Insider members receive shopping and dining benefits in most of the Gallery’s restaurants and the Gallery Store.
