Reminded me of MASH in style and with those often absurd jokes of the better films of Mel Brooks. You have to kind of like this kind of joke and want to see it through, but if you can, you'll see a great, intelligent movie. Only downside: Too bad Nichols didn't get Jack Nicholson for the central lead role, although they had worked together before. Arkin is certainly not bad, but Nicholson could certainly have given more substance to this character. In mijn jeugd was deze ooit op tv, maar na tien minuten weggegaan, vond er niets aan. Catch 22 is een prachtige satire, zoals ze zelden gemaakt zijn. Van begin tot eind wrange, zwarte humor die op een vrij subtiele manier word gebracht. Deed me qua stijl denken aan MASH en met die vaak absurde grappen aan de betere films van Mel Brooks. Je moet een beetje van dit soort gein houden en het willen doorzien, maar kun je dat dan zie je een geweldige, intelligente film. Enig minpuntje: Jammer dat Nichols voor de centrale hoofdrol Jack Nicholson niet heeft gestrikt, alhoewel ze toch al vaker hadden samengewerkt. Arkin doet het zeker niet slecht, maar Nicholson had op zeker nog meer inhoud kunnen geven aan dit personage. Maar over het algemeen: Niet te missen, deze.\n\nBrilliant movie. You have to kind of like this kind of joke and want to see it through, but if you can, you'll see a great, intelligent movie. Only downside: Too bad Nichols didn't get Jack Nicholson for the central lead role, although they had worked together before. Arkin is certainly not bad, but Nicholson could certainly have given more substance to this character. Deze anti-oorlogsfilm was destijds ongetwijfeld een stuk urgenter en de film is wat aan de lange kant. Maar wel een aantal grappige dialogen die vaak in het verlengde liggen van de titel. Een cast met aardig wat bekende namen en ook een paar redelijk spectaculaire shots.\n\nGood film in which a pilot from the army wants to have himself declared crazy so as not to have to fly anymore. This anti-war film was undoubtedly a lot more urgent at the time and the film is a bit on the long side. But there are some funny dialogues that are often in line with the title. 'Catch-22' looks nice and has some absurd, silly and funny moments, where the whole towards the end turns into a special atmosphere and somewhat slackens as far as I'm concerned. Deed me qua stijl denken aan MASH en met die vaak absurde grappen aan de betere films van Mel Brooks. Je moet een beetje van dit soort gein houden en het willen doorzien, maar kun je dat dan zie je een geweldige, intelligente film. Enig minpuntje: Jammer dat Nichols voor de centrale hoofdrol Jack Nicholson niet heeft gestrikt, alhoewel ze toch al vaker hadden samengewerkt. Arkin doet het zeker niet slecht, maar Nicholson had op zeker nog meer inhoud kunnen geven aan dit personage. Maar over het algemeen: Niet te missen, deze. Brilliant movie. Deze anti-oorlogsfilm was destijds ongetwijfeld een stuk urgenter en de film is wat aan de lange kant. Maar wel een aantal grappige dialogen die vaak in het verlengde liggen van de titel. Een cast met aardig wat bekende namen en ook een paar redelijk spectaculaire shots. Good film in which a pilot from the army wants to have himself declared crazy so as not to have to fly anymore. This anti-war film was undoubtedly a lot more urgent at the time and the film is a bit on the long side. But there are some funny dialogues that are often in line with the title. 'Catch-22' looks nice and has some absurd, silly and funny moments, where the whole towards the end turns into a special atmosphere and somewhat slackens as far as I'm concerned. It seemed the sharpest was from the writing. Readable Markdown	Brilliant movie. This was on TV once when I was a kid, but left after ten minutes, didn't like it. Now, about thirty-five years later, damage has been made up by buying DVD and my conclusion: This was surely a great childhood sin at the time ![](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/4.5/png/64/1f644.png). Catch 22 is a wonderful satire, as they are rarely made. From start to finish wry, black humor that is presented in a fairly subtle way. Reminded me of MASH in style and with those often absurd jokes of the better films of Mel Brooks. You have to kind of like this kind of joke and want to see it through, but if you can, you'll see a great, intelligent movie. Only downside: Too bad Nichols didn't get Jack Nicholson for the central lead role, although they had worked together before. Arkin is certainly not bad, but Nicholson could certainly have given more substance to this character.
