Meta TitleBMW Accidentally Leaked Its Upcoming 2027 Car Launches
Meta DescriptionBMW’s consumer site for the U.S. revealed new variants and models early.

If you wanted to know what the 2027 model year lineup looked like for BMW, you could have seen it from the company itself, as the U.S. website accidentally showed off eight models set to launch later this year. While it has removed those “leaks,” read on for the models that received early reveals before BMW realized its mistake and scrubbed its site. Motor 1 reported what appeared on BMW U.S.’s website. The Munich manufacturer hasn’t explained what happened, but we suspect someone released a future site update as the company was preparing it for the eventual removal of the Z4 and 8-Series, both of which will end production this year. The biggest reveal was that the M2 will finally get xDrive AWD as part of its performance improvements for 2027. This version will reportedly launch with an M-tuned automatic transmission rather than the standard manual transmission and will probably add another $5,000 or so to the base price. The leak also included variants coming to the 3-Series sedan lineup. It was known that the M340i xDrive was going away with the end of the G20 chassis; with the introduction of the all-new G50 version, it will become the M350i xDrive. The site also spilled the beans on the 2027 NA0-chassis i3 electric sedan in that it will be offered in 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive forms. The i3’s 2027 iX3 SUV counterparts were also spoiled; it will have 40 sDrive (RWD), 40 xDrive, and 50 xDrive variants. Finally, there was also some tea spilled on the larger BMW iX4, X5, and iX5 SUVs, as well as the 7 Series. The iX4 will come in 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive flavors, the X5 will include a 40 sDrive version, and the iX5 will offer a 60 xDrive. The final early reveal was the 2027 740i xDrive. We reached out to BMW for comment, receiving (as expected) this reply: “As a matter of policy, we do not comment on future product availability.” While BMW won’t talk about these future products—despite how close some are to launch—it’s clear 2026 is shaping up to be a busy year for the automaker.
