James E. “Jim” Brandt, 68, of Upatoi, GA, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026. A service for Jim was held at Armington Christian Church in Armington, Illinois, according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 15th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the American Legion Hall Post 174, 55 Mountainside Blvd, Wayne, NJ 07470. James, the oldest of four children born to Jeanne Brandt and the late Tom Brandt, was born on Christmas Day, 1957, in Lincoln, Illinois. He grew up in Armington, Illinois. Jim retired after 40 years as a licensed electrician with NECA-IBEW and later became a successful business owner with Adam. His favorite hobbies included yard work, hunting, fishing, and spending time with Rosemarie, as well as with friends and family. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Tom Brandt; his younger brother, David Brandt; and his granddaughter, Andie Goodman. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Rosemarie; his daughter, Jamie Goodman and her husband, Brett; his cherished stepdaughter, Jessica; and Rosemarie’s daughter, Ash and her wife. He is also survived by his mother, Jeanne Brandt; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Diane; and his grandchildren, Abigail and Allan Goodman. He is also survived by his brother, Tom Brandt and his wife, Melanie, along with their sons, David and Luke; his niece, Chelsea and her husband, Adam, and their children, August, Rosco, and Teddy; his sister, Debbie Hancock and her sons, Christopher and Dwayne; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, John, Elaine, Derek, Michele, Larry, and SallyAnne, along with their families.
