| Boilerpipe Text | Restricted and prohibited items
As a method of prevention and for the safety of all, cabin and checked baggage are screened by airport personnel. There are objects that can be carried if certain requirements are met, as well as other objects that are directly prohibited.
Get to know the conditions under which these items can be transported as cabin and checked baggage.Â
Review the list of restricted and prohibited items:
Common items:
We have arranged a list of items that you may wish to bring on your trip. Pay attention to the following information and remember to always check the local authority regulations from the countries you are about to visit during your journey.
Important:
Â
Local authorities at the corresponding airport security controls are responsible for screening and defining which items are allowed to be transported under local regulations.
On international flights, you can bring in the cabin containers that are 100 ml (3.4 oz.) or less per item, inside a transparent bag of up to 1 liter (34 oz.), with an opening and closing system that allows you to view the contents. Each passenger is allowed to bring one bag only.
In case of having to transport any item as checked baggage exceeding the baggage included in your fare,
additional fees may be charged
according to our baggage policy. Thus, we recommend checking the rules established by the authorities of each country you may visit during your journey and the information provided by the airports in advance, since rules may change according to the origin, connecting point and destination.
You can carry food as long as it meets the applicable conditions. Some foods can only be carried on board in certain amounts, while others aren’t allowed in the cabin or in checked bags. You may be required to remove all food, powdered items, or any other item from your cabin baggage that may obstruct the X-ray images on the conveyor belt. Additionally,
some food may be discarded during this security screening if it does not meet the permitted quantities or types.
Remember that
the final definition regarding the transportation of each food item in your baggage is made at the security checkpoints of each airport.

Transportation conditions in checked bags:
In order to prevent liquid spills that may damage our passengers' luggage,
the following requirements must be met for the transportation of perishable food  in checked bags:

In the case of fish, crustaceans, and other seafood, they must additionally be placed inside a cooler or thermal bag lined internally and externally with a sturdy plastic bag. The transported ice must be in gel form or in hermetically sealed plastic bags.
Important:
In order to know the food transportation conditions in different locations, we recommend checking the rules established by the authorities of each country you may visit during your journey and the information provided by the airports, since rules may change according to the origin, connecting point and destination.
Chile:
Some animal and vegetal origin products are not allowed in the country or are subject to certain conditions.
Check the foods that are allowed
when declared and meeting the conditions imposed by the SAG (Agricultural and Livestock Service). Additionally, please
check the list of animal products
that can enter the country only under certain conditions, or that cannot enter the country due to posing a sanitary risk.
We also invite you to
check the information regarding travels between mainland Chile and Easter Island
in case you wish to transport animal and vegetal origin products.

## Review the list of restricted and prohibited items:
Common restricted items
IATA restricted items
Prohibited items
### Common items:
We have arranged a list of items that you may wish to bring on your trip. Pay attention to the following information and remember to always check the local authority regulations from the countries you are about to visit during your journey.
**Important:**
- **Local authorities at the corresponding airport security controls are responsible for screening and defining which items are allowed to be transported under local regulations.**
- On international flights, you can bring in the cabin containers that are 100 ml (3.4 oz.) or less per item, inside a transparent bag of up to 1 liter (34 oz.), with an opening and closing system that allows you to view the contents. Each passenger is allowed to bring one bag only.
- In case of having to transport any item as checked baggage exceeding the baggage included in your fare, **additional fees may be charged** according to our baggage policy. Thus, we recommend checking the rules established by the authorities of each country you may visit during your journey and the information provided by the airports in advance, since rules may change according to the origin, connecting point and destination.
Food
You can carry food as long as it meets the applicable conditions. Some foods can only be carried on board in certain amounts, while others aren’t allowed in the cabin or in checked bags. You may be required to remove all food, powdered items, or any other item from your cabin baggage that may obstruct the X-ray images on the conveyor belt. Additionally, **some food may be discarded during this security screening if it does not meet the permitted quantities or types.**
Remember that **the final definition regarding the transportation of each food item in your baggage is made at the security checkpoints of each airport.**

**Transportation conditions in cabin baggage:**
You can carry food in your cabin baggage, in an airtight container that prevents spills or odors that affect other baggage items. Some countries have restrictions on certain foods, so we recommend that you inform yourself through the appropriate health authorities.
**Transportation conditions in checked bags:**
In order to prevent liquid spills that may damage our passengers' luggage, **the following requirements must be met for the transportation of perishable food in checked bags:**
- They must be packaged in a leak-proof and odor-resistant container.
- In the case of fish, crustaceans, and other seafood, they must additionally be placed inside a cooler or thermal bag lined internally and externally with a sturdy plastic bag. The transported ice must be in gel form or in hermetically sealed plastic bags.
**Important:**
**In order to know the food transportation conditions in different locations, we recommend checking the rules established by the authorities of each country you may visit during your journey and the information provided by the airports, since rules may change according to the origin, connecting point and destination.**
**Chile:** Some animal and vegetal origin products are not allowed in the country or are subject to certain conditions. [**Check the foods that are allowed**](https://www.sag.cl/ambitos-de-accion/productos-de-origen-vegetal "Check list") when declared and meeting the conditions imposed by the SAG (Agricultural and Livestock Service). Additionally, please **[check the list of animal products](https://www2.sag.gob.cl/sag_al_dia/consultas_publicas/Borrador_productos_equipaje_acompanado_25.01.21_CPN_CPI.pdf "Check the list of products of animal origin")** that can enter the country only under certain conditions, or that cannot enter the country due to posing a sanitary risk.
We also invite you to [**check the information regarding travels between mainland Chile and Easter Island**](https://www.sag.cl/ambitos-de-accion/viaje-entre-chile-continental-e-isla-de-pascua-rapa-nui#:~:text=Actualmente%2C%20se%20permite%20el%20ingreso,que%20ser%C3%A1n%20usados%20en%20propagaci%C3%B3n. "Review restrictions and prohibitions on travel to Easter Island") in case you wish to transport animal and vegetal origin products.

Containers with liquids, aerosols, gels, creams or products of similar consistency and alcoholic beverages sold in Duty Free stores can exceed the 100 ml per container limit established for transportation in the cabin on international flights, as long as you make the purchase at the **last airport of your journey or on board the last plane before reaching your destination.**
If you have a layover or connection, you can bring Duty Free items that exceed 100 ml **as long as the rules of the layover or connection country allow it**. In this case, you must ensure that the items are stored in a sealed security tamper-evident bag (STEB), sealed at the moment of purchase, **along with the respective receipt in a visible place**. Otherwise, the items may be retained by the local authorities at the corresponding boarding gate or at security control and may not be transported in the hold. LATAM does not take responsibility for opened products or those confiscated during transit or at any other time.
In order to know the countries that allow Duty Free purchases to be transported during layovers and connections and the applicable limits, we recommend checking the rules established by the authorities of each country you may visit during your journey and the information provided by the airports, since rules may change according to the origin, connecting point and destination.
Medications, vitamins and medical devices
You can carry medication without problems, but make sure you have a prescription that certifies its use during the trip, considering flight hours and connections. The prescription can be requested anywhere on the trip.
If medicines require a cold chain, they should be transported in an appropriate container. It should remain under your care and responsibility throughout the trip, as we do not offer this service. In addition, it has to comply with the transportation standards for dry ice, which can be found in the “[**Other items**](https://www.latamairlines.com/us/en/experience/prepare-your-trip/baggage/restricted-prohibited#other "Check the instructions")” section of this page.

Baby and children's objects
When traveling with your baby, you must carry it in your arms and in your seat. However, you can carry **1 additional item at no cost**. In addition, you can bring:
- 1 folding car, or
- 1 child restraint system (certified chair, lifter, etc.).
In the case of cars with a removable fastening system (Travel System), base and chair compounds are considered 1 single item, so you can carry on board both elements or only one of them. If there is no room to carry it in the upper compartment of the aircraft, we will send it to the hold at no cost.
If you bought a child's ticket for your baby (in an individual seat), you can take the baggage in the cabin according to the corresponding fare.
**Important:** In order to know the conditions applicable to each country, **we recommend checking the rules established by the authorities of each country you may visit during your journey** and the information provided by the airports, since rules may change according to the origin, connecting point and destination.

| Readable Markdown | Restricted and prohibited items

As a method of prevention and for the safety of all, cabin and checked baggage are screened by airport personnel. There are objects that can be carried if certain requirements are met, as well as other objects that are directly prohibited.
Get to know the conditions under which these items can be transported as cabin and checked baggage.
Review the list of restricted and prohibited items:
Common items:
We have arranged a list of items that you may wish to bring on your trip. Pay attention to the following information and remember to always check the local authority regulations from the countries you are about to visit during your journey.

**The following objects are allowed with certain restrictions:**
Medicinal or toilet, non-radioactives items (including aerosols) such as **hair sprayers, perfumes, colognes and medicines** containing alcohol, as well as non-flammable, non-toxic aerosols for sports or home use with no secondary hazard are allowed on our flights.
The total net quantity of non-radioactive medicine or toiletry items and non-toxic, non-flammable aerosols must not exceed:

If you are traveling with firearms, you must request the firearm transportation service at least 24 hours before your flight by calling the **[Contact Center](https://www.latamairlines.com/us/en/about-latam/contact-center "Learn more")** or contacting a LATAM [**Customer Services Office**](https://www.latamairlines.com/us/en/about-latam/latam-travel-offices "Learn more about our offices"). If you request it at the airport the day of your trip, we will not be able to guarantee the service.
##### **To or from London:**
The transport of firearms is temporarily suspended.
##### Within Brazil:
If you are traveling with firearms on a domestic flight, you must arrive at least 2 hours in advance to undergo security procedures, carrying all necessary documentation and identifying yourself to the airport agent at one of our counters.
##### **Within Chile:**
**In addition to transporting weapons in checked bags, weapons can be transported as confiscated items.**
- The Chilean authority allows the transport of a maximum of 5 firearms as confiscated weapons, that is, weapons that are delivered directly to the authority at security controls. These weapons must be delivered by the passenger to the DGAC (Directorate General of Civil Aeronautics) security personnel at the AVSEC control.
- You must request the firearm transportation service by calling the [**Contact Center**](https://www.latamairlines.com/us/en/about-latam/contact-center "Contact Center") or contacting a [**LATAM Customer Services Office**](https://www.latamairlines.com/us/en/about-latam/offices "LATAM customer services offices") at least 2 hours before your flight departure time.
- Passengers requiring the firearm transportation service at the airport without previous request are subject to this service and AVSEC staff availability. Boarding is not guaranteed in this case, which may require moving to another flight where this service shall be available.
- Weapons will be accepted at the AVSEC control up to 1 hour before the flight’s departure time, but we recommend delivering them at least 2 hours before the flight departs.
- Since the requirements are imposed by the authority (DGAC), in the case of non-compliance with any of the above points, we cannot ensure that the weapon will be accepted by AVSEC or shipped on our flight.
##### **Travel with other companies:**
- **On trips that have connections with Azul LĂneas AĂ©reas or another related company**, the transport of firearms is prohibited, both in the cabin and in the hold.
- **On trips including connections with other airlines, you must allow additional time during your connection to retrieve and re-check your firearm at the counter of the next airline**, following their requirements and conditions for transporting this item. Additionally, you must comply with all documentation requirements set by the police and customs authorities of each country where you have a connection, transit, or reach your final destination.
- **Firearms transportation policies may vary** according to the country and the internal policies of the airline operating your flight. In case you have a connecting flight with other airlines, check the corresponding requirements in advance.
