They will also join in many interesting activities, such as traditional Thai attire, cultural performances, merit-making, vibrant parade, beauty contests, sand sculpture contests, concerts, colorful Songkran processions,s and traditional Mon-style Songkran celebrations (at Wat Wangwiwekaram). In some places, elephants will join in, making the celebration more unique and interesting. For people having an interest in traditional dance, it is a good idea to visit Renu District in Nakhon Phanom, where the famous "Ram Phu Tai" will be performed, along with a magical "Bai Sri" ceremony. It is well-known that water plays a large part in the Songkran, making the festival similar to a water fight, and has become very popular with younger Thai people and younger travelers from all over the world. During the celebration, people will sprinkle or pour water over the elders and other family members to give good luck, and also sprinkle water to strangers on the streets to have good fun. Since April is usually the hottest month of the year, most Thai people are very glad to join in the "water fight". ## Tips to Fully Enjoy the Songkran 1\. Join in some temple activities, the most important aspects of the festival. Such as, making merit and listening to temple sermons in the morning to get their blessing. 2\. Wash the Buddha by pouring water into the torso rather than directly pouring it onto the head. 3\. Sprinkle water on the hands of the elders over the age of 60 to express respect and seek blessings. 4\. Do not pour water offensively or use high-pressure water hoses/guns. And the water shall be clean or mixed with traditional Thai fragrances. 5\. Wear lightweight clothes which are easy to dry. Women should avoid wearing tight and/or thin clothes or clothes that are light in color. 6\. Put wallets, cell phones, and cameras into waterproof plastic bags in advance. 7\. Take along a small bucket or water gun to join in the interesting water fight. Besides, the Songkran festival will also be celebrated in other countries in Southeast Asia, such as Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia, as well as Yunnan in China around 13-16 April. April, 2026  **Amazing Easter in China** We recently completed an eight-day trip through Guangzhou, Guilin, Yangshuo and Zhangjiajie with Odynovo, and the experience exceeded our expectations. We were a group of nine, including three older parents in their 70s as well as teenagers, so finding a balance that suited everyone could have been challenging. However, the itinerary was thoughtfully designed and managed to keep both age groups engaged, comfortable and genuinely enjoying themselves throughout. A special mention to Nikki Xia, who planned our itinerary. We made many changes over several months, and she was consistently patient, responsive and open to every suggestion. Her flexibility and attention to detail made the entire planning process smooth and reassuring. The hotels selected for us were consistently of a high standard — clean, well-located and very comfortable after full days of travel and sightseeing. Transport between cities was smooth and well organised, which made a big difference given the distances involved. A further thank you to our guides: in Guilin we were looked after by Alice for three days, and in Zhangjiajie by Tracey Wang for three days. Both were outstanding — warm, attentive and highly professional. Their English was excellent, and their knowledge added real depth to each destination. The service throughout the trip was attentive and, at times, truly impeccable. The food was another highlight. Our travel agent, Kevin Yang, did a great job putting together a custom itinerary that worked for us and our young kids. He was super responsive and helpful, and everything so far has been seamless. Our tour guide in Beijing was Cathy and she was fantastic. Her English was perfect and she was very easy to understand. Cathy was friendly and knowledgeable. She took us around Beijing for three days and we did all the major sites (Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace and Great Wall). We also did a dumpling making class with a local family, tai chi lesson and went to lots of great restaurants, where Cathy helped us order delicious dishes for the whole family to enjoy. My smiling guide Li Ying “Linda” was waiting, got me to my beautiful hotel and made sure checkin was smooth. Throughout the trip, she made sure I was clear about everything from breakfast to when I would need passport. Linda provided great background on Chinese history, enhancing my knowledge. She also took care to make sure I was safe including holding my hand in the more difficult passages of The Great Wall—which was a trip highlight. April, 2026  **Beijing + Great Wall** Spent 5 days in Beijing with Driver Ma and Guide Alice. Driver Ma is a great driver, no issues with motion sickness which was a large plus for me. Alice is extremely knowledgeable and was able to provide lots of additional context and answer any questions we had. She’s also very prepared and went above and beyond with being helpful by bringing walking sticks to help me on the Great Wall, made great dinner recommendations and reservations, and was very accommodating in changing plans a bit so my dad and I could see a local museum. It’s also a nice plus she has a very artistic eye so we got some amazing pictures. Our visit took place over the Qing Ming Festival period—one of the busiest times of the year—when navigating iconic sites such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the Hutongs can be exceptionally challenging due to the sheer volume of visitors. Despite this, Mr Li Sun demonstrated exceptional foresight and planning at every step. His ability to anticipate crowds, adjust timing, and manage logistics ensured that our itinerary ran as smoothly and seamlessly as possible under very demanding conditions. Mr Li Sun is a mature, thoughtful gentleman whose depth of knowledge in Chinese history is both impressive and delivered with genuine humility. Beyond historical facts, he is able to engage in meaningful and intellectually stimulating conversations across a wide range of topics—from political governance to broader reflections on life. This made the experience not just informative, but genuinely enriching. Throughout our time together, he was consistently punctual, polite, and honest—qualities that quickly built a strong sense of trust. A small incident on our final day highlighted his character even further. After dropping us near a train station (a location he had not previously serviced), he initially questioned the driver when the drop-off seemed too far from the entrance. Although the driver reassured him at the time, Mr Li Sun did not leave it at that. After ensuring we were settled and ready for our journey, he took it upon himself to personally verify the location, identified the correct drop-off point, and returned to inform us with sincere apologies. April, 2026  **First experience of Japan** Odynovo was totally unknown to us (two travellers from South Africa) and we relied on the positive reviews by users from other countries. The pre-tour communication with Mr Don Li built trust to go ahead with the booking. We were not disappointed. Everything went so smooth. The prompt responses, and well written tour documentation and the providing of proofs of tickets, hotel vouchers before hand was so reassuring. We were delighted with the hotel choices. Due to an operational hick up at Haneda Airport we disembarked late resulting in a 'jammed packed' immigration hall which slowed down the immigration process. Despite this, the driver Mr Nakazawa waited patiently; made inauiries about our well being via WhatsAPP and delivered us safely at the hotel beyond mid night, surely after his expected knock off time. The next morning in Tokyo Mr Aki introduced the traditional" Japan to us. Accolades to him in navigating us through all the train stations, and finding the elevators/ escalators where available. He bought us some traditional sweets which was appreciated. The next day our guide was Mr Atsuhiro Meno and a driver, which name I can't remembered now, picked us up for the drive to Hakone. It was a longer drive than anticipated due to heavy Friday traffic but they managed to fit in all the planned tour activities. Surely they returned later than usual to their homes. Also their general knowledge about many topics made the trip a pleasant experience. At Hakone, we genuinely appreciated that the Mr Meno acted as a translator to ensure that the hotel staff understood, and answered all our questions well. The next day Mr Toshi (travelled from Osaka) met us at the hotel in Kyoto and ensured that we experience all the activities as planned. At the end of the day, he did not leave us at Gion, but accompanied us on Bus 702 back to the hotel. So much appreciated! He also provided us with valuable information regarding our trip to Osaka. In Osaka we joined a food tour, and the next day, Mia was our guide. Also a person which is well informed and we were able to discuss many different topics. It was a perfect trip - fun, interesting and no stress! Our tour coordinator, Ander Zou, really listened to what I wanted to do and didn't want to do. He was incredibly quick and responsive throughout the planning process. The guides and drivers, especially Nick and Praew, were very knowledgeable, kind and fun. Most days included two big meals and we were not hungry for a third. They were great restaurants too-including one with a Michelin star. The hotels were great, and they were notified of my food allergies ahead of time. Each individual activity was top tier and we experienced so many things that were not even on our itinerary. Everytime I had a thought like, "I wish I had asked to visit a hill tribe", the guide would say, " We're having lunch at a hill tribe and we can visit their village if you like," Ander contracted with a professional bird guide for our trip to a national park. Nick planned fun stops with local vendors ahead of time- teaching us to fold open a lotus, or making us smoothies. If you don't have a lot of time to plan, want to get to know a lot of locals, and want to be pampered, these individualized tours are the way to go! My only suggestion is to budget for the guides of individual activities- not just the Odynovo guides. This is not at all expensive, I just did not realize that many places such as cooking schools, boat operators and elephant sanctuaries also appreciate small tips and I was sometimes short on cash. Had the amazing guidance of NGUYỄN DƯƠNG NGHĨA. Worth also noting was very flexible and easy to accommodate if slight changes were made to schedule, made the trip very easy and relaxed. We had a great mix of Vietnamese countryside as well as the inner city of Hanoi and was taken to all the best spots buy our guide. Our driver was Mr NAM, who was excellent, very efficient, VERY safe and punctual. Quality of bus was superb and always had refreshments ready for us and met all of our needs. Only improvement that could be made would be slightly later starts on some days however not always possible due to schedule. And Ha long bay was extremely busy with cruises and long long lines at the main caves and if there are similar cruised operators in nearby Bay's that are much quieter id recommended going there. Hien was very friendly and a great driver - we never felt unsafe despite the traffic being so busy compared to home. Tuan was a phenomenal guide. He gave us lots of information about the sites we saw but also about the culture and the people in Vietnam. She spoke very good English, had been a guide in Beijing for more 20 years, and was the nicest person. Dina took care of every detail; from checking us into our hotel room to taking us to all of Beijing's highlights. Due to her vast experience, she had a wealth of knowledge of each site and knew all the best places to stop and best camera angles. She even went beyond our itinerary to book us an acrobatic performance that was superb. You could tell she loved her job and loved being around people. She also followed up in the days and weeks after, making sure I was feeling better. We both would highly suggest spending some time in this quaint little town. It's quite touristy at night, but still very fun and more relaxing than the big cities. Iterated back and forth for about 3 rounds of discussion and quickly came up with a superior itinerary that included a home visit during Holi which was crazy cool. All the relevant sights to see at various locations we had identified ahead of time that included Mt. Everest flight, Taj Mahal and tiger and leopard sightings in Ranthambore National Park among others. All of the major locations in New Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Pushkar, Jodpur and Udaipur as well as 4 days in Katmandu. 4 and 5 star hotels, local guides in all locations plus a dedicated English speaking driver who was outstanding. March, 2026  **Odynovo Vietnam 13 Day Private Tour - Part 2 (Hue, Da Nang & Hoi An) & Part 3 ( Hanoi, Halong Bay)** My Partner and i travelled to Vietnam in March 2026, and we had Odynovo design and book everything for our 13 day Private tour, Odynovo were really good for the most part, almost everything was organized and pre-paid. Our First part was in Ho Chi Minh and Can Tho (Reviewed Under Odynovo Ho Chi Minh) Part 2: We arrived in Hue from our Domestic Flight and were greeted by our guide with no issues and transferred to our Hotel by our driver Mr Luv who skilled and professional, We opted for 4-star accommodations and every where we stayed was great with all the facilities and services we required, we found Hue to be significantly quieter than Ho Chi Minh. On our next day our guide took us to explore some sites in Hue (Imperial Citadel, Forbidden City, Thien Mu Pagoda & Emperor Tu Duc's Tomb), followed by a quick ferry down the perfume river to a delicious lunch. We spent our free night in Hue exploring the closed market streets in the Centre of Hue and some dinner - the atmosphere was delightful, quite busy too. The following day we were travelling down to Hoi An, on the way we drove down the road of tombs filled with hundreds of old Vietnamese graves and took a quick trip to a local fishing farm to try our hand at some traditional net fishing - no luck! We stopped at a lovely little lagoon freshwater pearl lagoon / restaurant for a delicious lunch, then drove down along the bay, up through the Hi Van Pass (an old Vietnamese fortification) and through Da Nang to arrive at our Hoi An Hotel - Lasenta (the best of our entire trip). The next 3 days were in Hoi An, 2 site-seeing with our guide and 1 free day. For the guided days we visited a local mini-farm to witness the farming of the land followed by a wonderful cooking class experience for our lunch, this was at 11:30am, and we had only just eaten Breakfast at 9:00, so the timing was unfortunate. After the cooking class the guide seemed pretty eager to be on his way so we had the afternoon at leisure to explore nearby - we visited Hoi An Memories Land in the evening which was a nice change of pace. The 2nd guided day was a short 2 hour tour of Ancient town (Japanese Bridge, Chinese Temple & Merchants House), afterward the guide left us again for the afternoon, after some relaxing we headed back to Ancient town for dinner and the night markets. We spent our free day walking through the town / rice fields before an Amazing spa experience at the hotel. The following morning we were picked up by our guide to travel to Da Nang for our Flight to Hanoi, this unfortunately had some errors / confusions. The itinerary stated our flight was indicated to leave at 11:05am, but was actually 10:15am (this seemed to be the standard time for this flight run) our guide had the wrong information as well and we almost missed our flight - some definitely unneeded stress for this part - so double check all your flights yourself! Reflecting on our experience for our Hue / Hoi An guide, we were a little disappointed. He spoke English really well and was generally fun to be around, but he just didn't seem too interested or invested in enriching our experience. For attractions we would get a little information then he would let us walk around ourselves while he used his phone and had a cigarette. I also assume they get paid by the day and was intent on spending as little time as possible with us and didn't share with us any information on sites/experiences we might be interested in for our free time periods. Part 3: We arrived in Hanoi, met our guide Bom and our driver Mr Duc who were both lovely and went out of their way to enrich our experience. After we were picked up our guide Bom showed us to Ho Chi Minh tomb and historical site which was immense and interesting, Bom did his best to explain the history and culture with his limited English skill, we were really grateful. We were then transferred to our Hotel in the center of Hanoi, the accommodation was spectacular as always. The evening was a quick rickshaw ride around the old Quarter and then dinner and some self exploration. The following day was a 3-hour drive to Halong Bay for our Halong Bay Cruise for the night, we stopped at a Saltwater Pearl Farm on the way to experience how they perform non-intrusive micro-surgery to seed the oyster to produce pearls without hurting it. Afterward we arrived at Halong for our Overnight cruise with Athena Signature Cruise - the cruise boat, the staff, the food everything was fantastic, they took us further over to Bai Tu Long Bay where we dodged a lot of the crowds and it was much more serene - a great choice! Overnight on the Boat among the limestone pillars, in the morning more delicious food, a kayak through a remote floating fishing village and a quick cave visit before heading back the Mainland and drive back to Hanoi for evening leisure. Our last day was a free day in Hanoi where we did some shopping, and exploration ourself. Finally transferred to the Airport in the morning for our flight home. Our guide and Driver for Hanoi were lovely, Mr Duc was professional and safe on the chaotic roads, and Bom our guide tried his very best to enrich our travels - once he has improved his English skills further he will make an exceptional guide! Overall our trip was great, everything was organized and paid for in advance, we got unlucky with a guide and some errors on the itinerary but otherwise it was smooth sailing and a bit of a whirlwind! In Bangkok, we were met by Pat Patto with a clear sign, just as we were exiting. He was a great guide. He made sure we saw everything we wanted to see. Pat was excellent at explaining the history and culture of the sights. We were able to visit the train and floating markets, as well as the flower market. We even learned how to fold a lotus blossom. Pat made sure we were comfortable and well hydrated. The weather and my bad knee were never a problem. I could fill many pages with my appreciation of the amazing experience of Bangkok. The Chatrium Hotel was a great choice. The hotel staff were friendly and efficient. The view was magnificent, as was the food in their restaurant. Chaing Mai was my favorite part of the trip because of our guide Nalin Vicky. She met us at the airport with a smile and cold water. Vicky"s English and communication skills were exemplary. She also made sure we saw, and understood everything important in Chang Mai. One of the highlights of our whole trip has to be the Elephant Park. Interacting with the elephants in a safe, educational setting was wonderful. We will cherish our experience with the elephants, as well as the staff. The Hotel RatiLana Riverside Spa was good, not great. I felt as if we were not in the nicer section of the hotel. Most of the staff were wonderful. The hotel was riverside, but we had no view. The room was oddly cramped, with no space to unpack. Phuket was the beach town I was really looking forward to. This was the disappointing part of our trip. The hotel was not a good location. Even tho we had a sea view, there was a highway in front, next to cliffs. I was looking forward to sitting on a nice beach for the relaxing part of the trip. The cars you arranged were nice, comfortable and air conditioned. The drivers were all safe and kind. Everyone we encountered, were most understanding of my mobility issues. You chose excellent people to work with. The guides meeting us as we exited the airport, and staying with us to help navigate the airport to security was a tremendous help. March, 2026  **Southeast Asia Tour with Odynovo** The trip was absolutely spectacular!! 😊 We had the most amazing time. Everything was so smooth and organized. Our Travel Consultant, Gina Liu was an absolute pleasure to work with and I have already started to refer friends of ours to Odynovo on their travels. Here are the notes we have per location: 1 – Hanoi: Our guide, Than, was 10 out of 10. I would recommend Odynovo use him often. He went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible experience. He added a few stops to our itinerary as well that weren’t initially on there which was awesome including the train street where we go to sip a drink and watch the train go right through the middle of the street. The hotel (Intercontinental Hanoi West Lake) was beautiful. The location was a little far from city center so we didn’t get to explore on our own, but Than took such good care of us that it was OK. We loved Hanoi! The excursions were great! The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was really incredible to see as well as the Ethnology museum 2 – Ha Long Bay: The ship, Paradise Legacy, was magnificent. Service was amazing. The staff knew us by our first names which was really nice. The excursions were really fun. Especially the Cave. 3 – Hoi An: Our guide, Pea, was good. To be fair we only had a half day itinerary with her so didn’t get to really spend a lot of time with her. We didn’t know our itinerary was only a half day here. It was OK because we spent the rest of the afternoon at the beach in Hoi An which was beautiful so we made the most of it. Pea also recommended some excursions for us to do on our own in the evening including the “Memories” show which was amazing! I recommend it! The hotel, Little Oasis, was our favorite of all the hotels we stayed in. It was beautiful, service was excellent and the location was perfect. We were able to easily get around town. There was a lot within walking distance for us as well including some amazing restaurants. The rooftop pool was great too. The excursion were good, but it was a short day with the guide so we were left on our own a bit here. 4 – Ho Chi Minh City: Our guide, Lam, was excellent. We conversed a lot as he was equally interested in the United States as we were in Vietnam which was really nice. We exchanged a lot of knowledge. The excursions were excellent! He was an amazing guide and I highly recommend him. The hotel, Lotte Hotel Saigon, was again beautiful. It was located more in the financial area so there wasn’t too much to do within walking distance, but we were able to still explore on our own and enjoy the area. We also booked a dinner cruise on our own. The ship, Elite Saigon Luxury Dining Cruise, was amazing and brand new. It was one of the highlights for us in the city. I would recommend it if planning an evening excursion on this ship. The excursions were fantastic. Cu Chi tunnels was one of the trip highlights for us as well as the Remnant Museum 5 – Siem Reap: Our guide, Sorn, was another 10 out of 10. He was one of our favorites! I again would highly recommend Odynovo use him often. He was so knowledgeable of the area and all temples and sites. He also was an amazing photographer and took so many great pictures of us. The excursions were amazing and the temples were breathtaking. We loved this location The hotel, FCC Angkor By Avani, was excellent and centrally located. We were able to easily get around town on our own. Sunrise at Angkor Wat was a definite highlight here! 6 – Phnom Penh: Our guide, G1, was good. He was very knowledgeable of the sites. The Killing Fields and prison were very heavy to take in and we learned so much about Cambodia’s struggles through the years which made us appreciate the Cambodian people even more. We really enjoyed the itinerary The hotel, Palace Gate Hotel, was very nice and was a great location. We were easily able to walk around in the evenings and explore. 7 – Bangkok I have to be honest here, our guide Golf, was our least favorite. He was extremely unengaging. He rushed us through the sites and walked about 50 feet in front of us most of the time. He tried to cram our itinerary (which was supposed to be a full day) into a half day. We were done by lunch. We felt very rushed and had to make a point to slow him down so we can see everything the sites had to offer. We would have loved to have been able to see more of Bangkok and I feel we had the time to do so, but he was not stepping up to show us much. The hotel, Lancaster Bangkok, was also our least favorite as well. It was beautiful, but more catered towards business meetings and conferences. The location was not good at all as we were nowhere near anything. The closest sites to see on our own would have been at least a 20-30 minute Grab ride We did love the palace, canal ride and reclining Buddha, but I feel this was the one stop that needed improvement 8 – Krabi The resort, Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort, was magnificent. We had an incredible time. We witnessed some of the most amazing sunsets we had ever seen and booked excursions on our own which were terrific including Hong Island on a private boat and a Thai cooking class as well as seeing a Muay Thai fight in the evening 9 – Bangkok This was just an airport transfer hold over, but the hotel, Hilton Bangkok Golf Resort and Spa, was beautiful again. The rooms were huge and newly renovated. Last, but in no way least was Gina our travel consultant. She was AMAZING to work with throughout the process. This was all such an incredible experience for us in no small part due to her hard work and help in crafting this really special itinerary and trip for us. We do plan on doing another Asia trip in the near future, next time to Japan. We will definitely be requesting we work with Gina again to plan that one. All in all our experiences were absolutely fantastic and I will 100% be booking our next trip through Odynovo. Everything worked flawlessly, our private guides were excellent, the five-star hotels were fantastic. Every day was well planned, every day the guides and drivers were waiting for us at our hotel. At the end of each day the guides informed us of what was planned for the following day and asked us if the itinerary was fine with us. They escorted us through the gates at the airports making sure we were booked and the reserved seats were as we selected. For me Chongqing was the least interesting part of the trip. Our guide in China was average, but I have to thank her for helping me out when my card was swallowed by an A.T.M. In Xi´an our guide Leo was just wonderful. As a former history teacher he knew a lot of stories about old China in general and about Xi´an in particular. Thanks to him we learned a lot. March, 2026  **Memorable Vacation in Central Vietnam** Our group of 23 family and friends just returned from a 14-day trip in Vietnam. We worked with Alex Xie at Odynovo to book our tailor-made tour that stopped in 8 locations throughout Vietnam. We had three tour guides throughout our trip, but the one that stood out the most was Shang (Mr. Nguyen Hong Sang). Shang accompanied us in Dong Hoi, Hoi An, and Da Nang. Due to rain, which was quite heavy at times, we had to change our itinerary slightly and had to forego some of the activities or change to another day. Our itinerary was packed with activities, so there wasn't much wiggle room. Shang was great in suggesting how we could still fit the activities into our busy schedule. We reserved an afternoon for riding scooters, but of course it was pouring rain. Some of the group was determined to ride the scooters in the pouring rain, so Shang got ponchos for them to wear. The scooter ride was cut short because of the heavy rains, but many said they still enjoyed the exhilerating ride. Shang was very knowledgeable about his country and was eager to share this information with us. He always welcomed questions and if there was something he didn't know the answer to, he found out the answer and reported back. Shang helped to take group photos at the various sites, but he surprised us all when he shared over 90+ photos that he took on his own of the group enjoying the sites. March, 2026  **A Private Guide and Driver is the Way to Go** When my wife and I arrived in Siem Reap, Cambodia we were greeted by our guide (Hean) and driver (Ya Ya). For the next four days they drove and guided us around Angkor Wat. Hean, was very knowledgeable about Cambodian and Khmer history. Hean’s English was good and easy to understand. When we were done visiting a temple, our driver, Ya Ya would be there waiting for us with a cold washcloth and water. The car was clean and air conditioned. Each day Hean and Ya Ya would meet us at our hotel and were always on time. When we wanted to change our itinerary for the day, they were always accommodating. Trinh, the local guide and Manh, the driver are outstanding. Both took extra care from the moment I set foot in the Hanoi airport to seeing me off to the next leg of the journey to Danang. Hanoi is a chaotic city with motor bikes going through the streets, often filling the entire street! Manh expertly and patiently made our way to various planned destinations- ethnic museum, Ho Chi Minh complex, waterpuppet theater, excirsion to Ho long Bay and back to the airport- his vehicle is immaculately clean and he provided a bottle of water on each segment. He raced out of the car to make sure that i departed the car safely. Trinh is the local guide who is very personable and a treasure trove of knoowledge. She greeted me punctually at the desired time at the hotel briefed me on the planned activities and we were off! I always have a lot of questions and she answered them to my satisfaction. Then our driver Le drove us to the hotel. Both were extremely friendly and Tinh spoke excellent English. Tinh was very knowledgeable about Vietnamese history, food, and religion. He helped us check-in to the hotel, drove with us to Ha Long Bay for our two night cruise and greeted us at the dock when we returned, and drove with us back to Hanoi. He Recommended some excellent restaurants and gave us a wonderful tour of Hanoi and the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum. For each of the cities, Lynn reviewed our objectives, made recommendations and helped develop a detailed itinerary to meet our needs goals. We found Lynn to be professional, knowledgeable, personable and attentive. The local tour guides in each city were excellent - (Kritart Singh in Jodhpur, Jadish in Jaipur and Mukeem Khan in Agra, see photos). Each tour guide went out their way to make our trip memorable. February, 2026  **Oh so many wonderful unique memories** We spent five days touring Hue, DaNang and Hoi An with our tour guide Tuan, Tran Thanh Tuan and driver Dung. We particularly the historic old quarter of Hoi An and the My Son Hindu temple complex. Friends joined us one day when we visited the Tra Que vegetable and herb organic farm where in addition to learning about local farming we had an impromptu concert of traditional music played on a one string instrument, were given feet and head massages and then had a cooking lesson and prepared our delicious lunch with guidance of a talented and witty chef! Trinh our guide in hanoi was unbelievably wonderful! She spoke excellent English, she is very very knowledgeable about everything and addressed every question we had with precise informed answers. She also saved us at the airport we would have been in the wrong line for hours but she helped us easily navigate to a newly opened line specifically because of overcrowding, she also went out of her way to help us do things not specifically on the tour but things we wanted to see or do. February, 2026  Varanasi – What A Place My wife had always wanted to go, and it lived up to our every expectation. As usual, everything expertly managed by the Odynovo team - collected at airport and personally transferred with a history lesson to the hotel – no question too hard or too silly. First night our Guide Dilip insisted that we drop the prearranged boat view of the Aarti Ceremony – little did we know he had pre-booked unique seats around a temple with an amazing view right above the main ceremony. He sat with us and explained a 1-hour event that just set the scene for our whole trip. Thanks so much. The next day Dilip followed up with so much information during our 6:30am boat trip on River Ganges, then in and around the local around streets, so much to see and experience – it’s another world. After lunch, we took the boat to Assi Ghat where he met us again with Vish our Driver and we spent the rest of the day seeing new Varanasi, with incredible sights, experiences and more. What a team and so well done. Dilip was very kind to my wife, helping her all the way around a challenging street walk but she made it. A special call out to the Brijrama Hotel, if you can afford it (not cheap) go for it. The location and experience is just perfect, it’s special, convenient and simply unique. A once in a lifetime. There is literally no better place to stay on the Ganges. The historical hotel has been so well renovated, with so much love and detail to see and do. Plenty provided free of charge to guests to immerse themselves in the place. So many personal touches to add to your experience. February, 2026   \+1 **Incredible India - 2-Weeks On Tour Together** We have just done our version of the Golden Triangle. We picked our key locations, Odynovo put it all together and it has been the best travel experience of our lives. India is a different, busy, sometimes challenging and unpredictable place. As active retirees (almost) we were a little worried how it would go – especially with my wife’s back condition. We needn’t have worried, every detail was covered by Odynovo whilst maintaining our total independence from other travellers to do what we wanted and when. Our hotels were top notch (you get what you pay for). Some were chosen by us and some were recommended. For 2-weeks we had one driver (Pyare), a permanent member of the Odynovo team out of Delhi. Our new car was spacious, very clean, air-conditioned and always stocked with nibbles, drinks and wifi working plus a soft cushion for my wife. Imagine spending nearly 2-weeks with the same guy, us and him on frenetic roads. Well, what a team we were. Every location had different guides, working with us. They took us around and our driver expertly met and dropped us off everywhere – limiting walking time, maximising experiences and ensuring our comfort at every point. Of course, different guides have different styles, all were incredibly knowledgeable and most we loved. One or two could be a little more enthusiastic but across 7 different locations and multiple days they ranged from amazing (12/10) to good (7/10), so a solid 8.5/10- everywhere\! Back to our driver Pyare, who has become a family friend,. He was so focussed on our enjoyment, safety and getting value from our trip – we simply could not speak highly enough of him. He recommended restaurants in all areas, joining us a couple of times to eat. His suggestions on itinerary and more were always spot on. He also became our hero. My wife slipped and broke a small bone in her foot in Agra. On arrival in Jaipur, he managed to help us through a local hospital – organising x-rays, medical attention and medication. There’s no way we could have been in and out within 90 minutes in Australia let alone India with everything we needed. We are not normally travellers via Tour Companies but based on our experience of the Odynovo team and their service to us in India we would not hesitate to use them again. Especially for countries where you want to get to see so much as possible in such a short timeframe. Can you imagine, all this organised between Australia and China and serviced in India. February, 2026  **Perfect time in Siem Reap, Cambodia, with Odynovo** We had the best time in Siem Reap, Cambodia, with Odynovo, specifically because of guide Khemrint and driver Da. Khemrint was absolutely friendly and pleasant, with an incredible knowledge of the history of the many temples we visited in Siem Reap, including of course Angkor Wat. He not only knows his history, he explains it well, and was very patient with our many questions about everything we were seeing. He also took some of the best photos of us on the trip and consistently offered, so I never felt I had to bother him for a photo, and he obviously knows where the best photo spots are. He was always willing to spend the extra time to take us to a spot where we wanted to go or spend a bit of extra time. Khemrint was also very helpful with our mom in her early 80s who had occasional trouble navigating steep and uneven steps, and would always hold out a helping hand when needed. Da was next level in terms of a driver, have really never experienced such a level of care from a driver on a tour! He always had a fresh minty smelling clean white washcloth that he would give us to clean our face and hands when we were pretty sweaty after walking around in the heat. In addition to water, he also had bananas and mangosteen as a snack for us in the car, as well as some cashews, dried jackfruit, and other snacks. He even opened up the mangosteen for my mom. He clearly has such consideration for his customers that he has thought of anything to make their travels as pleasant as possible. February, 2026  **Excellent tour in Japan** I worked with Jasmine Zhou, Travel Consultant at Odynovo to add to an itinerary in Japan that I had already started. I booked flights and hotels for myself, husband and 4 friends we travelled with. I requested private transportation arrangements for 6 of us with Jasmine between cities and also tour options in Hokkaido, Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. Jasmine was extremely easy to communicate with and flexible with my requests. The guides we had in each destination were superb, as well as the drivers. Because of luggage with 6 people we opted for private transportation instead of navigating the excellent train system in Japan. February, 2026  **This Tour is a Winner** Our trip was great from beginning to end. Planning was a positive experience with travel consultant Jake Zhong. He was very patient with all of my questions and concerns! We are seniors and I was concerned whether we would be able to participate in all the planned activities. There were a couple that were above our abilities but the guides adjusted things and made everything work! We had three guides as we covered the country of Vietnam. Each of them was so special and showed us their love of their country. Mr Nguyen Manh Ha showed us the north part of the country with joy and fun! Told us how people have it so much better in the country than in the past. Mr Tuan was with us in the central part of the country. He was able to share personal stories of his family’s participation in the development of making Vietnam the country it is today. Mr Nguyen Hoang Minh Trung shared his personal goals for his country. He was intense with both his beliefs as well as with his determination that we were safe and well taken care of. Pakki made things educational and fun and was very responsive to our needs. He is also a super good guy. This was definitely the highlight of our overall trip. I would describe the overall experience in one word, magnificent.. You should also understand that we were very nervous about the trip as we are in our 70's and with mobility issues . They also were. very flexible in modifying our itinerary when mobility became an issue and we needed to change a venue.. This was exactly the flexibility that we wanted on our journey .. In addition, if an issue developed during the tour, the people at Odynovo were available and able to fix the issue. We would definitely use them again in any future trips. I also liked working with Odynovo in planning the trips, because we were able to enjoy their expertise in the areas we were traveling (China, India and Southeast Asia), and also able to focus on things of interest to us. Loved Hanoi** From the moment we arrived at Hanoi airport until we were to depart for our next flight Odynovo and their staff made every possible effort to make our stay and experience exceptional. Thehotel was superb in a very safe, interesting and accessible area. Our drivers (including Mr Li) navigated the busy roads with serious expertise and safety. Our guide Duc was very informative and caring and showed us so many interesting things in Hanoi and on our way to and from Halong Bay for a fantastic one night cruise to the beautiful bays on Athena cruises ( which was absolutely faultless). Duc and Mr Li were there to meet us on time at every destination and kept us informed. They could not have done more for us. Thank you for a wonderful experience on our first trip to Vietnam. February, 2026  **Trip to Hanoi, Hue and Hoi An** We are finishing up the Vietnam portion of a three week trip to Southeast Asia with Odynovo. Our guide for Hanoi was Tuan and driver was Chi. Navigating the chaotic roads in Hanoi was done with ease by Chi and Tuan was a very knowledgeable guide who shared so much about Vietnam’s political history, especially while visiting Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum and house. We were well taken care in Ninh Binh and Halong Bay as well, as Tuan handled everything so there was no planning on our part. His help at the airport was greatly appreciated.In Hue and Hoi An, our guide was Vu and driver was Dung. They also were very competent, friendly and helpful. Vu led our tours at a nice relaxing pace and shared cultural insights as well as historical information in a well paced manner. So far, we are very pleased with our trip arrangements. February, 2026  **Delighted with our time in Siem Reap with our Odynovo guide and driver** We used Odynovo for our month-long tour of Southeast Asia for our group of 4. One of the highlights was our time (4 days) in Siem Reap with our tour guide Hean and our driver Mister Smith. Hean is a wealth of information, speaks good English, always with a smile on his face. We learned not only about the temples and ruins, but about people's lives and what it was like for him growing up after the war and his time as a monk. The driver also spoke English, was always polite and courteous and offered the added touch of providing us with cold face clothes infused with essential oil to refresh us after exploring. February, 2026   \+11 18 Day China Trip Dad daughter high school graduation trip to China in December 2025 with Odynovo Tours. We loved everything about the trip with iconic visits to the historic and epic Great Wall, Forbidden City and Xi'an /Terracotta Warriors as well as food and nature based choices. Everything went seamlessly and we felt very welcome by the locals . Inter city travel was by high speed train and one flight with a dedicated driver where required. December was chilly in Beijing but none of the sites felt crowded. This made our photo opportunities much easier and minimal entry wait times . We will definitely be back as so much more to see. February, 2026  **Excellent Odynovo Tour of Mainland China\!** My husband, daughter, and I recently returned to the U.S. after our time in mainland China and Hong Kong. The Odynovo 10-day tour Alex Xie planned for us in mainland China went extremely well. We were very happy with each of our tour guides (Tracy in Beijing, Emma in Xi'an, Nancy briefly for our transfer from the airport to the train station in Changsha, Mike in Zhangjiajie, and Kevin in Shanghai) and drivers in each city. All the guides were friendly, punctual, and we were able to communicate very well with them in English. We appreciated having their assistance with our arrivals/departures at the airports/train stations - they made things easy for us. All the drivers drove carefully, and we felt safe being transported by them. The attractions the tour guides took us to in each city provided us with the highlights we were seeking. Each one of the hotels was beautiful and in an excellent location. We appreciated having access to a self-service washer and dryer (both fast) at the hotel in Xi'an - this may have been available at the other hotels too, but we did not need to do laundry until then. The lunches that were included in our tour were authentic and tasty. The only trouble we occasionally had, which had nothing to do with Odynovo, was making payments on Alipay and We Chat, which are highly used in mainland China. We downloaded both these apps before we left the U.S. and we put a couple of credit cards on each, but sometimes our transactions were declined. This is something U.S. citizens may want to explore with their credit/debit card providers before traveling. We recommend having extra cash on hand. We greatly appreciate the efforts of Alex Xie to organize this tour for us and answer our questions during the planning stages. We highly recommend the tour we took and Alex's service (including to our local travel agent), and we hope to have the opportunity to travel again with Odynovo\! Posted on Product Review   Val Harper 31\. January, 2026  We have never traveled with tour guides before, but Odynovo’s bespoke Egypt tour fit our needs perfectly. There were no big tour groups but a personalized experience from beginning to end. We felt taken care of and listened to from the start. All of the arrangements, from hotels to guides to drivers to site tickets, were personally arranged for us. Airport representatives got us through the paperwork of visas; drivers and guides got us to our hotels and reminded us of our daily agendas, and even arranged for special meals on the road. The sites and activities were well-chosen and rewarding. We were surrounded with care from start to finish. A special shout-out goes to two exceptional guides. Ali Galal (Lower Egypt sites) was extremely knowledgeable and clearly conveyed the exceptional ancient history of Egypt to us. In addition, for more modern history, we were enriched by his clear and concise explanation of the Islamic religion allowing us to understand its precepts as we visited mosques in Cairo. Ahmed Saber (Aswan and Luxor) shared his tremendous expertise about sites in upper Egypt, ending with a magical evening tour of his hometown Luxor in an hour long carriage ride through the city. Both guides had excellent language skills and were very personable, making us feel like they were friends as well as historians. Another special shout-out goes to our drivers, particularly Taha, who knew Cairo like the back of his hand and handled the city’s crazy traffic like a pro. His skill allowed us to travel smoothly from busy downtown Giza to the smallest village in the countryside. Our Odynovo tour went without a single major problem. At no time during the entire 20 days in Egypt did we feel unsafe or uncertain. When changes to the planned itinerary were necessary due to a dust storm in Luxor, alternative activities were quickly arranged and implemented. A last-minute domestic flight change was handled by Odynovo managers and communicated not only to us but to our guides and drivers so all ensured we made our flight. We were greatly impressed with the value we got from the price of the trip, and enjoyed the personal attention that only a private tour could give. We will definitely be exploring more of the world, and will put Odynovo on the top of our list for tour companies. We have already recommended this group to many of our friends. January, 2026   \+4 **Travels in China** What a holiday, we were very nervous from the start, our media and politicians have very little good to say of China and we struggled to find a tour company who would and could help two elderly people both with walking difficulties. Then to add to our problems several weeks prior to leaving I had a reaction to one of my medications which put me into a coma and on waking i could only walk 60 steps, it took lots of effort from both Cathryn and myself and a great desire to see as much of China as we could to be able to get to go on the trip. It was only three weeks prior to departure that I obtained medical permission to go on the trip. Following an eventful flight, with both flights departing late, fortunately the second flight was almost two hours late, we arrived in Beijing. Beijing, Alice and John picked us up and an absolutely fabulous trip started, both Alice and John could not be faulted they were very help full, we were surprised that most of the tourists were Chinese with very few non local tourists. The hotel was comfortable with a good breakfast and well located. Although we struggled, we walked to the Great Wall and although the final steps defeated us we found that we were as excited as if we had walked the entire distance of this magnificent structure. We were sensible enough to accept Alice's advice to hire a wheelchair for our viewing of the Summer Palace and also for the following days viewing of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Although we had wheelchairs we decided that no amount of stairs would stop us seeing as much as possible, and Alice assisted us at every step. Beijing, a memorial city with friendly and helpful people and with very good people helping us. We were a little daunted with the rail station, the station is much larger than the airport back home, john droped us at the entrance and Alice ensured we had the correct seats. The high speed G train can travel at 350kph and we reached 349kph, a great and exciting journey. Xian, Kenneth and Mr Fann were at the exit awaiting our arrival and welcomed us, again a great hotel with a good breakfast. We were surprised at the size of Xi'an as all we had read of the city was the Terracotta Warriors and we had not expected or researched that the city was one end of the Silk Road and a major city in world history. Today we are to visit the the Terracotta Warriors, i've been looking forward to seeing them since i saw Warriors and a Horse and chariot at the world expo in Brisbane, 1988, almost a 40 year wait to see this incredible site. A great trip the Terracotta Warriors were even better than expected and the Bronze Chariots were not remembered by either of us only the horses and it was a special surprise that bought back memories. Our walk through the Muslim Quarter Bazaar and food shops was more interesting than expected and we both wished that we could have climbed steps for the view from the bell and drum tower. Our visit to a local family home to assist to make dumplings, our abilities at eating the dumplings exceed our abilities at making them. Our host was friendly and tried to help us feel like we actually made the meal, a fun meal in a lovely home and we were made to feel very welcome. A lot less concerned we headed for the Bullet D train, top speed only 250kph, we were dropped off at the station and Kenneth assisted us to elevator for our platform, by now we were confident enough to find the train, carrige and seat. Chengdu, Lilly and Mr Sun greeted us and we had a site seeing tour and a traditional Tea culture visit in another very large and friendly city, much larger than expected. Today we visit the Panda Research Base, although I am very animal conscious and Cathy is even more of an animal conservationist than me, we were amazed at the feeling that the Panda Research Base had on us. To see the amount of young Pandas being bred was fantastic and surprising. Also a visit to the Sanxingdui Museum a recently discovered culture, the artifacts in the Museum are from an ancient culture and well worth taking the time to visit. What a day Lilly was exceptional we were assisted with every step of this exceptional breeding facility and Museum. Although the day was very tiring, the Pandas made every step worth while, the Museum was not something the we knew anything about prior to our visit. Guilin, Jessica and driver, our journey here started with a trip to the Karsts Caves this beautiful cave complex with large and scenic natural formations is worth the visit Jessica assisted us ensuring our safely with every step. Although we have both seen many Chinese paintings of the strange and different mountains of Guilin, we both thought that the mountains and rivers were exaggerated, we were incorrect the scenery was great and at every turn in the river cruise the views are memorable. Both Jessica and the driver were very helpful and Jessica was extremely curious, Jessica's attention to our safety was extremely important as we walked through the caves and encounter many steps. Cathryn's birthday, and Cathy was surprised with a beautiful cake at the hotel, we were both thrilled. We both needed some assistance for safety and Jessica and the driver ensured our safety all the time. Neo and driver, Thursday was a bad day for Cathryn and myself we could not make the trip, maybe it was two elderly, 75 and 78 Year Olds thinking that they were still in their teens. Neo worked hard to rearrange the days trip to be changed to Friday ensureing that we could see as much as possible.of Shanghai we saw the poster Museum and had coffee in the major shopping maul and had tea tasting at a local tea house. Although we were obviously tired Neo rearrange the day for us to see as much as possible of Shanghai, we are sincerely sorry not to have notified him earlier on the 22nd that we could not make the trip and we are extremely grateful for his efforts to rearrange everything for the following day. I can not leave my commentaries of our trip without thanking David Tan and the staff of ODYNOVO the man and people who put together our wonderful adventure. We planned our trip to China with several people telling us it was not safe to visit China, and we did have slight trepidations, our trip was planned perfectly by David, We have not at any time been treated with as much courtesy on any other travels that we have had. If we are to travel to China or any other destination again we would use ODYNOVO and request David Tan again, we would spend a longer in China as there is so much history to see. January, 2026  **Great visit to Morocco** We took a 10 day tour of Morocco. The entire trip with driver, hotels and guides was organized by Odynovo. They did a great job, organizing what cities and towns we visited, the driver, the guides, and all the hotels. We really enjoyed our trip and especially loved our driver, Mohammed.Fakhir. He drove us around flawlessly for 12 days, knew exactly where he was going, took us to every site, was a joy to be around for 12 days, and spoke great English if you can get him as your guide, you are very lucky. January, 2026  **We wish we had stayed longer.** After a short flight from Hoi Chi Minh City, we were met at the Siem Reap airport by Khemrint (Cameron), our Odynovo guide and Da the driver for the one hour ride to our hotel in the city. Cambodia, and Siem Reap in particular are famous for the hundreds of ancient Buddhist and Hindu temples in the area. Khemrint displayed excellent knowledge of the history and cultural significance of the country and the temples in such a way as to make a potentially dry subject very interesting. The driver, Da, was always helpful and very safe and competent. We were also given valuable advice about markets and restaurants. As for the trip itself, the temples are all amazing examples of the architecture of the time. Angor Wat in particular is incredible, and becomes even more so when how and why it was built is explained so clearly. It was also interesting to see the temple where scenes from the movie Tomb Raider were filmed. As a final note, Khemrint always knew the best locations for photographs. We got in late, and our guide Thang was there to greet us. The 1st day, we had a full day city tour, then off to Ha Long Bay for an overnight cruise. It was beautiful out in Ha Long Bay, but the weather was foggy and misty all day, no sunshine at all. Our tour continued to central Vietnam- Da Nang & Hoi An. Our guide there was Tuan. He gave us an option of how we wanted to start our evening when we arrived. A few of us in the group got fitted for traditional Vietnamese clothing. That was really neat. I highly recommend doing that. The outfits are so light and comfortable. Hoi An was a really cool town with great food. I wish we had more time there to explore. The only bad thing about this portion of the trip was that our driver in Da Nang didn't show up to take us to the airport in the morning. Tuan was on top of it and got us taxis to the airport. The driver also forgot some of our luggage in the van on the 1st evening. That's the only time we had an issue with any of our drivers. Other than that, it was a good trip/tour. Our guide, Le Van Tuong, imparted incredible knowledge as we toured the Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi. Not only was his knowledge of each ethnic group wide-ranging, but he also shared his own life experiences as a young boy growing up on a farm. January, 2026  **Great guide in an amazing location** We had three couples touring Vietnam and Cambodia together. Odynovo put together a great itinerary for us. There were no hiccups or issues at any point along the way. Our favorite guide of the trip was our guide in Cambodia--Phally Pin Sophally and his driver John. Taking time to explore downtown Siem Reap at night was a wonderful and interesting experience. January, 2026  Amritsar A Special Place We caught the train from Delhi, thanks to Odynovo, we were helped through a very crowded station with big suitcases, the guys organised to get them onboard above our heads and sat us comfortably in our chairs – with table. The 6-hour journey was as good as any I have had anywhere in the world. We were given newspapers, drinks, breakfast, lunch and snacks – all included and the porters helped us off the train into the hands of our next Odynovo Guide – Para. He and our Driver Shiv, whisked us off to the Border Ceremony and then dinner. Calmly explaining everything for the day and next day. Old Amritsar is very different to new, such a special place, everyone walking calmly and what a day at the Golden Temple. On the way, Para invited me to wear a turban to cover my head, which I did. What a buzz. Greeted by many people by showing this cultural respect. We spent 3-hours seeing everything, going into the actual temple is a must, which Para encouraged and even linked us with 2 young guys to help us around, so thoughtful. After the Temple, we did the other sites including the Partition Museum. Then onto an amazing local artisan shop where we bought the best 2 x carpets and bedspread. What an amazing experience. Lastly we went to the Fort for a night show. By then we felt Para was part of the family, I wouldn’t recommend the experience but it was fun, and we made the most of it - that said it was our choice to go. January, 2026  **Amazing time in Cambodia** Our tour guide, Khemrint, and our driver Hoan were amazing! :) They made our tour so fun and exciting! Cambodia is a beautiful country, and I can't wait to go back! The people are so hospitable, kind, friendly, and respectful. Khemrint was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of his country. He went out of his way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. He recommended we try a traditional Cambodian delicacy- stuffed frog, and he was able to get it for us. It was delicious! I'd also recommend trying the (Khmer) fish amok. Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat were just incredible and stunning. Unfortunately, our sunset balloon ride over Angkor Wat was canceled due to some airspace issues. That was nothing the tour company had any control over. Hoan was so kind and ready with a nice, cool wet eucalyptus towel & cold water every time we returned to the van. After being in the heat, it was very refreshing. Our hotel, FCC Angkor, was awesome and within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and Pub Street. 2 full days and 3 nights in Cambodia were not enough. When we return, we will be sure to have Khemrint show us around. If at all possible, request Khemrint and Hoan, you won't be disappointed! And spend more days there if you can. January, 2026  **What a great tour\!** We were met at the airport by our guide Peter. He was a fountain of useful information on the ride to our hotel, and gave us the details for our tours the next day. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, he was unable to continue as our guide, but Odynovo quickly found a replacement.Our new guide Thanh, and our driver Xuan were up to the task. Xuan was an extremely competent and careful driver in what to us were very trying conditions. Thanh was very knowledgeable about where we were going and about the culture and history of Vietnam overall. On our first day, we visited the museum of ethnology, the Ho Chi Minh Masoleum and then took in the world, famous water puppet show. After that, we took a Cycle tour of the old quarter before heading back to our great hotel for a relaxing evening.After a day on our own to do a bit of local exploring and get over our jet lag we were up early for the drive to Halong Bay , where we boarded the orchid, trendy cruise for an overnight cruise around the bay as well as Tra Bau - LAN Ha Bay. Our cabin on board was wonderful, and the scenery around the bay incredible.The following day Thanh and Xuan took us to the airport for our trip to Da Nang. Somehow or other Thanh managed to get us checked in without going through the very large lineup at the check-in counter .We thoroughly enjoyed the entire trip, and if we were to do it again would request Thanh and Xuan to be our tour guide and driver. January, 2026  **Outstanding Odynovo Hanoi tour guide** We are having an outstanding 30-day trip in Southeast Asia that we customized ourselves with the help of Odynovo. Our travel agent Leila was outstanding and so was she in 2017 when we booked a similar trip in China. Our Hanoi tour guide Hà was assigned to us for 8 days (he waited patiently in Ha Long Bay for our 2-day cruise to be over) and he is a wonderful person to travel with. We learned a lot, discussions were easy and he always had a friendly, happy face. Even for portions of the trip outside of his district, he has been making sure that our trip is going smoothly (we are currently in Hoi An). I can't recommend Odynovo enough to make traveling stress free. And you will be pleased if you have Hà as your guide. All of our drivers were courteous and most importantly, they are safe drivers. In some places, elephants will join in, making the celebration more unique and interesting. For people having an interest in traditional dance, it is a good idea to visit Renu District in Nakhon Phanom, where the famous "Ram Phu Tai" will be performed, along with a magical "Bai Sri" ceremony. It is well-known that water plays a large part in the Songkran, making the festival similar to a water fight, and has become very popular with younger Thai people and younger travelers from all over the world. During the celebration, people will sprinkle or pour water over the elders and other family members to give good luck, and also sprinkle water to strangers on the streets to have good fun. Since April is usually the hottest month of the year, most Thai people are very glad to join in the "water fight". ## Tips to Fully Enjoy the Songkran 1\. Join in some temple activities, the most important aspects of the festival. Such as, making merit and listening to temple sermons in the morning to get their blessing. 2\. Wash the Buddha by pouring water into the torso rather than directly pouring it onto the head. 3\. Sprinkle water on the hands of the elders over the age of 60 to express respect and seek blessings. 4\. Do not pour water offensively or use high-pressure water hoses/guns. And the water shall be clean or mixed with traditional Thai fragrances. 5\. Wear lightweight clothes which are easy to dry. Women should avoid wearing tight and/or thin clothes or clothes that are light in color. 6\. Put wallets, cell phones, and cameras into waterproof plastic bags in advance. 7\. Take along a small bucket or water gun to join in the interesting water fight. Besides, the Songkran festival will also be celebrated in other countries in Southeast Asia, such as Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia, as well as Yunnan in China around 13-16 April.
