| Boilerpipe Text | Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
Upon reviewing your medical history:
Your symptoms appear consistent with antibiotics-associated diarrhea. Consider incorporating probiotics into your diet regimen. This can be achieved through daily consumption of either commercially available probiotics or yogurt, which serves as a natural source of probiotics.
To alleviate stomach spasms, you may use Mebeverine (muscle relaxant) 135mg as an anti-spasmodic. Take one to three doses per day, as needed.
Additionally, include an antacid syrup such as Gaviscon (10ml) after meals to protect your stomach from medication-induced irritation. Consult your doctor and take the medicines accordingly.
With the cessation of antibiotics, your symptoms are expected to improve gradually.
If symptoms persist, further evaluation such as detailed stool examination, or testing for infections may be necessary.
As a precautionary measure, avoid consuming meals from outside, or reheating dishes for the next few days.
Wishing you a swift recovery and continued good health
I hope that you get your answer.

Thank you. |

Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for your reply.
Hello doctor,
My antibiotic course, consisting of seven days of Metronidazole, followed by seven days of Amoxicillin, ended yesterday. However, over the past week, I have still experienced stomach spasms and loose stools three times. I am becoming increasingly concerned about this.
Kindly help.
Thank you.

Hi
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Rest assured, the antibiotics you have been prescribed are effective, making a bacterial infection highly unlikely in your case. Experiencing stomach upset after taking antibiotics, especially Amoxicillin, is quite common. Now that you have completed your course of antibiotics, your symptoms are likely to improve on their own. However, you can follow the simple symptomatic treatment options I suggested earlier. Consider incorporating probiotics into your routine to restore your gut's natural bacteria and promote regular bowel function.Try not to dwell on your symptoms excessively. Anxiety can exacerbate bowel issues, making it seem like your symptoms aren't improving. Give yourself some time to recover.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and good health.
Thank you.
