Bowles, 28, of Ogden, is being held in Utah on charges alleging he came to the Kingston area twice to have sex with the teen he met on social media.\n“Predators are lurking online, and in this case, we had a nightmare scenario with a child being groomed by a predator who traveled across the country to sexually abuse the child,” Attorney General Dave Sunday said in a statement. “Fortunately, investigators put a stop to this deviant behavior.”\nAccording to prosecutors, the case came to light when Kingston police received two ChildLine referrals in late December.\nDetectives learned that Bowles met the victim on TikTok in 2024 and began communicating with the girl on other platforms, including Instagram and Snapchat.\nBowles bought the girl a promise ring, clothing and other items, and recorded some of his interactions with the teen during his two visits to the area, prosecutors said.\nKingston Police Chief Richard Kotchik said in a statement that the case reflects his department’s strong partnership with state prosecutors.\n“Together, we share a steadfast commitment to protecting our community and pursuing justice through unified, professional law enforcement efforts,” Kotchik said.\nBowles is facing numerous felony charges, including unlawful contact with a minor, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, and manufacturing and disseminating child sexual abuse materials.\nHe is being held in Utah while awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.\nDeputy Attorney General Mary G. A Utah man is awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania to answer to charges alleging he traveled across the country to have sex with a 15-year-old in Luzerne County, according to the Attorney General’s Office. Braxton A. Bowles, 28, of Ogden, is being held in Utah on charges alleging he came to the Kingston area twice to have sex with the teen he met on social media. “Predators are lurking online, and in this case, we had a nightmare scenario with a child being groomed by a predator who traveled across the country to sexually abuse the child,” Attorney General Dave Sunday said in a statement. “Fortunately, investigators put a stop to this deviant behavior.” According to prosecutors, the case came to light when Kingston police received two ChildLine referrals in late December. Detectives learned that Bowles met the victim on TikTok in 2024 and began communicating with the girl on other platforms, including Instagram and Snapchat. Bowles bought the girl a promise ring, clothing and other items, and recorded some of his interactions with the teen during his two visits to the area, prosecutors said. Kingston Police Chief Richard Kotchik said in a statement that the case reflects his department’s strong partnership with state prosecutors. “Together, we share a steadfast commitment to protecting our community and pursuing justice through unified, professional law enforcement efforts,” Kotchik said. Bowles is facing numerous felony charges, including unlawful contact with a minor, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, and manufacturing and disseminating child sexual abuse materials. He is being held in Utah while awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania. Deputy Attorney General Mary G.
