lean ground beef

cup
chopped onion

(4.5-ounce) can
mushrooms, drained
1/2
teaspoon
garlic powder
1/2
teaspoon
mustard powder

tablespoons
all purpose flour
1
cup
beef broth
1
tablespoon
Worcestershire sauce
1/2
teaspoon
ground black pepper or to taste
1
(8-ounce) package
wide egg noodles
½
cup
sour cream
freshly chopped parsley for garnishing
Directions
Cook ground beef, onion, mushrooms, garlic powder, and mustard powder in a large skillet over medium heat until beef is browned and crumbly, 6 to 8 minutes.
Sprinkle flour evenly over beef mixture and stir well until coated. Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper, scraping up browned bits with a wooden spoon. Bring to a simmer and cook until slightly thickened, 10 to 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, cook egg noodles in a large pot of boiling salted water until tender, about 7 to 9 minutes; drain.
Remove beef stroganoff from heat; stir in sour cream until blended and heated through. Serve over hot egg noodles and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

This recipe was tested in our test kitchen and updated to remove 1/2 cup mayonnaise. The sauce is now thickened with flour, extra broth, and sour cream for a creamier result.

Anyone reading any of these reviews already knows to add worcestershire sauce to the meat. My wife also replaced the actual mushrooms with 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, added a little bit extra garlic and some freshly crushed black pepper. We eliminated the Mayo because of my cholesterol. No, this isn't Gourmet Food! LOL But it IS very delicious and filling! Bon Appetit\!

It’s actually not bad - easy to follow and modify. Glad I also read the reviews and the only thing I changed was adding the Worcestershire sauce! Will most likely add this to my meal prep rotations :D Also got a thumbs up from the spouse\!

Original recipe (1X) yields 6 servings
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 (4.5-ounce) can mushrooms, drained
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper or to taste
- 1 (8-ounce) package wide egg noodles
- ½ cup sour cream
- freshly chopped parsley for garnishing
## Directions
1. Cook ground beef, onion, mushrooms, garlic powder, and mustard powder in a large skillet over medium heat until beef is browned and crumbly, 6 to 8 minutes.
2. Sprinkle flour evenly over beef mixture and stir well until coated. Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper, scraping up browned bits with a wooden spoon. Bring to a simmer and cook until slightly thickened, 10 to 15 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, cook egg noodles in a large pot of boiling salted water until tender, about 7 to 9 minutes; drain.
4. Remove beef stroganoff from heat; stir in sour cream until blended and heated through. Serve over hot egg noodles and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
### From the Editor
This recipe was tested in our test kitchen and updated to remove 1/2 cup mayonnaise. The sauce is now thickened with flour, extra broth, and sour cream for a creamier result.
