We have specific standards for the use of the Main Slope, requiring users to be able to control their speed and direction, make turns safely, stop safely, and know how to use the button lift. If you cannot meet the criteria, you will not be able to snowboard with a\nLift Pass\n, as you will be a risk to yourself and others around you.\nTo reach a good standard of snowboarding, complete beginners will require around six lessons. Although if you haven’t been on your board in a while, we strongly recommend taking a refresher lesson before doing so. We have specific standards for the use of the Main Slope, requiring users to be able to control their speed and direction, make turns safely, stop safely, and know how to use the button lift. If you cannot meet the criteria, you will not be able to snowboard with a [Lift Pass](https://thesnowcentre.com/hemel-hempstead/lift-passes/), as you will be a risk to yourself and others around you. How many lessons to learn to snowboard? \+ To reach a good standard of snowboarding, complete beginners will require around six lessons. The number of lessons needed to feel comfortable will depend on your learning speed and the type of snowboarding lessons you are undertaking. How long should a snowboarding lesson be? \+ An adult snowboarding lesson at The Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead is two hours long, while our kids' snowboard lessons are one hour or an hour and a half, but we do also offer [day snowboarding lessons](https://thesnowcentre.com/hemel-hempstead/snowboard-lessons/adult/day-lessons/) that are exclusive to adults and will see you undertake five hours of instruction. Although if you haven’t been on your board in a while, we strongly recommend taking a refresher lesson before doing so. We have specific standards for the use of the Main Slope, requiring users to be able to control their speed and direction, make turns safely, stop safely, and know how to use the button lift. If you cannot meet the criteria, you will not be able to snowboard with a [Lift Pass](https://thesnowcentre.com/hemel-hempstead/lift-passes/), as you will be a risk to yourself and others around you. To reach a good standard of snowboarding, complete beginners will require around six lessons. The number of lessons needed to feel comfortable will depend on your learning speed and the type of snowboarding lessons you are undertaking.
