With many of Earth's Mightiest Heroes either retired or dead, new heroes stepped up to take their place. Enter the\nEternals\n. Unfortunately, the\n2021 film by Chloé Zhao\nwas a resounding flop, and the\nEternals are being put out to pasture\n.\nFans constantly debate the merits of\nEternals\n, but aside from the\nCelestial Tiamut showing up in\nCaptain America: Brave New World\n, everything from\nEternals\nhas been completely ignored and forgotten about by the MCU. This is possibly why Marvel has chosen to end the Eternals once and for all, brutally slaughtering the heroes in a preview of\nUltimate Endgame\n#1.\nThe Maker, Marvel's Evil Reed Richards of the Ultimate Universe, Wipes Out the Eternals\nUltimate Endgame #1, Written by Deniz Camp, With Art by Terry & Rachel Dodson and Jonas Scharf; On Sale December 31, 2025\nA preview of\nUltimate Endgame\n#1 features the\nbloody death of the Eternals at the hands of The Maker\n. This evil version of Reed Richards is the puppet master behind the new Ultimate Universe. The Maker traveled back in time to Earth-6160 and changed history by preventing its heroes from reaching their true destinies.\nOne of the Maker's targets after being on Earth-6160 for three months are the Eternals. Ironically, the Eternals normally have a way to cheat death, but Maker has taken care of that by corrupting their sacred machine. All that remains of the Eternals is King Zuras, who is being killed slowly by the Maker's extended hands.\nThe Maker recognizes that the Eternals are essential threats to his reign of terror and promptly goes about eliminating them. King Zuras' body is ripped in half, signaling the end of the line for the Eternals. It's a sad state of affairs for the heroes, but it also mirrors their current status in the MCU.\nFans Shouldn't Get Their Hopes Up for the Eternals to Return to the MCU Anytime Soon\nEternals\nwound up being a divisive film amongst fans, as it introduced an entirely new cast of heroes who had nothing to do with the Avengers. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has stated that there are no plans for\nEternals 2\n, even though the first movie's story set up several directions the characters could go.\nChief among them is Kit Harington's Dane Whitman, aka Black Knight.\nEternals\n' post-credits scene featured Dane being visited by Blade\n, voiced by Mahershala Ali off-screen. Theoretically, this tease would have continued in Blade's solo movie, but just like the\nEternals\nsequel, it's been postponed indefinitely. Another post-credits scene also drew a lot of attention.\nThis scene starred Pip the Troll (Patton Oswalt) and Eros\/Starfox (Harry Styles), the latter the brother of Thanos. Like many of the MCU films during this time, the\nEternals\npost-credits scene set up new heroes who have yet to be heard from. Pip and Eros join the likes of Brett Goldstein's Hercules and Charlize Theron's Clea.\nAs far as the Ultimate Universe is concerned, it is done with the Eternals. This is probably for the best, since the Ultimate Universe is coming to a close with\nUltimate Endgame\n. Heroes such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, Black Panther, and the Ultimates are joining together to bring down the Maker and his evil council.\nWhether they succeed or fail is another question entirely. What we do know is that the Eternals won't be a part of the fight to save Earth-6160. The MCU flop is stuffed in a trash bin to never be heard from again. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has stated that there are no plans for *Eternals 2*, even though the first movie's story set up several directions the characters could go.\n\nChief among them is Kit Harington's Dane Whitman, aka Black Knight. [*Eternals*' post-credits scene featured Dane being visited by Blade](https:\/\/screenrant.com\/eternals-post-credits-scenes-introduce-3-massive-mcu-phase-4-characters\/), voiced by Mahershala Ali off-screen. Theoretically, this tease would have continued in Blade's solo movie, but just like the *Eternals* sequel, it's been postponed indefinitely. Another post-credits scene also drew a lot of attention.\n\nThis scene starred Pip the Troll (Patton Oswalt) and Eros\/Starfox (Harry Styles), the latter the brother of Thanos. Like many of the MCU films during this time, the *Eternals* post-credits scene set up new heroes who have yet to be heard from. What we do know is that the Eternals won't be a part of the fight to save Earth-6160. The MCU flop is stuffed in a trash bin to never be heard from again. It wasn't a critical flop but in terms of sales it was a flop. I for one came to enjoy the film in subsequent viewings. With many of Earth's Mightiest Heroes either retired or dead, new heroes stepped up to take their place. Enter the Eternals . Unfortunately, the 2021 film by Chloé Zhao was a resounding flop, and the Eternals are being put out to pasture . Fans constantly debate the merits of Eternals , but aside from the Celestial Tiamut showing up in Captain America: Brave New World , everything from Eternals has been completely ignored and forgotten about by the MCU. This is possibly why Marvel has chosen to end the Eternals once and for all, brutally slaughtering the heroes in a preview of Ultimate Endgame #1. The Maker, Marvel's Evil Reed Richards of the Ultimate Universe, Wipes Out the Eternals Ultimate Endgame #1, Written by Deniz Camp, With Art by Terry & Rachel Dodson and Jonas Scharf; On Sale December 31, 2025 A preview of Ultimate Endgame #1 features the bloody death of the Eternals at the hands of The Maker . This evil version of Reed Richards is the puppet master behind the new Ultimate Universe. The Maker traveled back in time to Earth-6160 and changed history by preventing its heroes from reaching their true destinies. One of the Maker's targets after being on Earth-6160 for three months are the Eternals. Ironically, the Eternals normally have a way to cheat death, but Maker has taken care of that by corrupting their sacred machine. All that remains of the Eternals is King Zuras, who is being killed slowly by the Maker's extended hands. The Maker recognizes that the Eternals are essential threats to his reign of terror and promptly goes about eliminating them. King Zuras' body is ripped in half, signaling the end of the line for the Eternals. It's a sad state of affairs for the heroes, but it also mirrors their current status in the MCU. Fans Shouldn't Get Their Hopes Up for the Eternals to Return to the MCU Anytime Soon Eternals wound up being a divisive film amongst fans, as it introduced an entirely new cast of heroes who had nothing to do with the Avengers. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has stated that there are no plans for Eternals 2 , even though the first movie's story set up several directions the characters could go. Chief among them is Kit Harington's Dane Whitman, aka Black Knight. Eternals ' post-credits scene featured Dane being visited by Blade , voiced by Mahershala Ali off-screen. Theoretically, this tease would have continued in Blade's solo movie, but just like the Eternals sequel, it's been postponed indefinitely. Another post-credits scene also drew a lot of attention. This scene starred Pip the Troll (Patton Oswalt) and Eros/Starfox (Harry Styles), the latter the brother of Thanos. Like many of the MCU films during this time, the Eternals post-credits scene set up new heroes who have yet to be heard from. Pip and Eros join the likes of Brett Goldstein's Hercules and Charlize Theron's Clea. As far as the Ultimate Universe is concerned, it is done with the Eternals. This is probably for the best, since the Ultimate Universe is coming to a close with Ultimate Endgame . Heroes such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, Black Panther, and the Ultimates are joining together to bring down the Maker and his evil council. Whether they succeed or fail is another question entirely. What we do know is that the Eternals won't be a part of the fight to save Earth-6160. The MCU flop is stuffed in a trash bin to never be heard from again. But at least fans didn't have to sit through the Eternals movie to see it happen. Theoretically, this tease would have continued in Blade's solo movie, but just like the Eternals sequel, it's been postponed indefinitely. Another post-credits scene also drew a lot of attention. This scene starred Pip the Troll (Patton Oswalt) and Eros/Starfox (Harry Styles), the latter the brother of Thanos. Like many of the MCU films during this time, the Eternals post-credits scene set up new heroes who have yet to be heard from. This is probably for the best, since the Ultimate Universe is coming to a close with Ultimate Endgame. Heroes such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, Black Panther, and the Ultimates are joining together to bring down the Maker and his evil council. Whether they succeed or fail is another question entirely. What we do know is that the Eternals won't be a part of the fight to save Earth-6160. The MCU flop is stuffed in a trash bin to never be heard from again. It wasn't a critical flop but in terms of sales it was a flop. I for one came to enjoy the film in subsequent viewings.
