Greetings, On behalf of the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, I would like to welcome you to the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in Savannah, Georgia. The Irish Catholic community in Savannah has- and continues to celebrate- the Feast of Saint Patrick, the Patron Saint of Ireland, since 1824. Again, this year at 8:00am on March 17th, we will begin the day by attending Mass at the Basilica Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, and all are welcome to attend. While the parade itself is a fun event for the entire community, we keep the foundation of faith in our hearts as we celebrate this great day and Saint Patrick, who, through his unwavering faith, spread Christianity across Ireland. We continue to focus our parade on faith, family, and friends, with faith being the most important reason to celebrate. We produce a family-friendly parade in historic downtown Savannah and encourage you to celebrate our culture with your family and friends. The Feast of Saint Patrick truly is a special day in Savannah. I would like to thank the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Savannah, and all of our local government agencies who assist our committee with all of the events throughout the Saint Patrick’s Day season. The services they provide ensure that we may all safely enjoy the parade. I would like to personally thank my officers and executive committee, who put in tireless hours of work to make sure this day is special for all. Thank you to the general membership of the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Committee for having faith in me to serve as your 2025-2026 General Chairman. A very special thank you to our office manager, Angela Coleman, for her incredible dedication over the years. To my family & friends who have supported me along the way, thank you. Please feel free to join us for some special events included in Savannah’s “Irish Season” leading up to the parade. We will be greening the fountain in Forsyth Park on March 6th at noon. Our Celtic Cross Mass will be held Sunday, March 8th, at the Basilica Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, followed by a ceremony at the Celtic Cross monument in Emmet Park. On March 16th at 4:00pm, we will have our Sergeant William Jasper ceremony in Madison Square. We hope that you can attend these events. It is my wish that you will come to the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17th and join in celebrating our faith and Irish culture. God bless America, God bless the Irish, and God bless us, all! Slan leat, le do mhuintir, agus le do chaired, John (Patrick) Beytagh, Jr. General Chairman Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Committee
