is an annual celebration that pays homage to the rich tradition and skill of charreria, a sport deeply rooted in Mexican culture. This event has evolved over the years, becoming a nationally renowned competition.

National Charro Championship
dates back to 1946, when charros from different regions gathered to demonstrate their equestrian mastery and livestock skills. Over time, this event has grown in popularity and relevance, becoming a highly competitive and respected competition. The LXXX edition of the event will be held in 2024.
National Charro Congress and Championship
The official name of the competition.
The championship is divided into several categories to ensure fair and equitable competition. The
National Junior Charro and Escaramuzas National Charro Championship
takes place in the months of July and August, giving the young generation of charros and skirmishes the opportunity to demonstrate their skill and dedication. On the other hand, the National Open Category is held between the months of October and December, highlighting the skill of the charros at their physical and technical peak. In addition, the
National Senior Charros Championship
The event is aimed at charros 45 years of age and older, who demonstrate that the passion and skill in charrería has no age limit.
Each state union holds its own state championships as a prelude to the national event. The
Mexican Charreria Federation
grants a specific number of slots for participation in the
National Charro Congress and Championship
This adds an element of competitiveness and merit for teams and scrimmages.
It is important to note that all participants must be duly affiliated and have accident insurance in order to participate, thus guaranteeing the safety and well-being of all those involved in this exciting competition.
