Excited to announce participatory parody by premium search service! #GrowthMindset LinkedIn HQ in downtown San Francisco, skewered by a reflection of the Salesforce tower Credit: Smith Collection/Gado/Getty Images If you've spent more than a day on LinkedIn in your life, you may have noticed that the networking service has developed a language all of its own. If you were a tad unkind, you might say LinkedIn users self-promote every tiny career moment in such a cliched way, it's a wonder that their words aren't written by AI. Or, if you wanted to turn that last sentence into more, uh, proactively positive LinkedIn speak: "We’re seeing so many thought leaders lean into the hustle, celebrating every micro-win with such a growth-oriented narrative that you’d swear it was automated. It’s all about that personal branding and staying humble while scaling your impact! #GrowthMindset #PersonalBranding #HustleCulture." The English-to-LinkedIn translation service , in this case, was automated. Kagi, a premium search service where you pay for what is essentially an ad-free, pro-privacy Google that actually works (our sister website Lifehacker swears by it ), also offers free AI-based language translation . You May Also Like And in a smart marketing move worthy of a LinkedIn update, Kagi has introduced more humorous internet subculture "languages" among its translation options. LinkedIn, launched Wednesday, is only the latest: there's Reddit speak (lots of "weird-ass," "cringe" and "banana for scale"), Pirate Speak ("tis a wonder their words aren't written by some mechanical ghost"), and complete fictional languages like Klingon (you'll be glad to know Klingons hunt for work on "LinkedInDaq.") But it's the LinkedIn lingo making waves on social media this week . I can see why, because this is more than a novelty — it's a hilarious and actually useful translation service. When it comes to human-style AI speak taking over our digital lives, the LinkedIn translator is touching the same nerve as Your AI Slop Bores Me — not to mention George Orwell's Newspeak. Mashable Trend Report There's a game-like aspect to the translations, and the game is: is there any human activity that couldn't be made to sound doubleplusgood in a LinkedIn post? If there is, I haven't found it yet. Wasted the afternoon in bed? No, you "decided to prioritize a strategic recharge to optimize cognitive performance and long-term productivity." Started injecting heroin? Call it "a high-intensity, daily commitment to a specialized chemical routine" that taught you about "supply chain consistency" and "a relentless focus on personal objectives, no matter the cost." Murdered a co-worker? Nonsense, my friend, you "successfully offboarded a team member ... to optimize long-term headcount." The translation works the other way around, too: LinkedIn speak into plain English. That's right — the next time your boss writes a 10,000-word LinkedIn epic that could have been a three-line email, there's no need to Google all the obscure marketing or management jargon. Just Kagi the whole thing. And if you need to write a comment in response, know that "I hated this and I am dumber for reading it" can also be rendered as "’While I’m always looking for ways to challenge my current mindset, this particular content reminded me of the importance of being intentional with the information we consume. Grateful for the learning opportunity!" Hey, maybe AI will save white collar workers' jobs after all. Credit: Photo by CHRIS DELMAS/AFP via Getty Images "Looksmaxxing" influencer Clavicular was recently approached by three trans women, prompting a discussion on which community — incels or trans women — really started the intense beauty movement. In a viral video clipped from a recent Kick stream , Clavicular was seen eating at a Florida restaurant when his friend, Andrew Morales, aka the "Cuban Tarzan," spotted three attractive women and pushed the camera their way to show the "gooners." Soon, the three women made their way to Clavicular’s table, with one asking, "Why am I mogging you right now?" Mogging is a term to describe outshining someone’s beauty. "I’m dragqueenmaxxing right now, no shade," the unnamed woman added. The three women then told Clavicular, also known as 20-year-old Braden Peters, that they were trans. Clavicular responded by asking questions about the women’s anatomy. The discussion changed when the woman who first approached the table told Clavicular, "You know that trans women are the OG looksmaxxers?" Clavicular seemed to acknowledge trans women’s role in the beauty practice, which involves extreme skin, hair, fitness, and nutrition routines, as well as the use of steroids and hormones (and even surgery, like bonesmashing). The woman who first approached the table told Clavicular, "I do the peptides, I’m on reta." Clavicular acknowledged that trans women on Reddit were using looksmaxxing terms back in the early 2020s. But when one of the women said, "You’re like copying us," Clavicular demurred, shaking his head. This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed. The women then ask for Clavicular to judge their appearance, but he seems to have had enough of the exchange and refuses. While Clavicular expressed his usual boredom and superior attitude with the women, he didn’t insult them. Morales, on the other hand, expressed transphobic attitudes by repeatedly apologizing for finding the women attractive before discovering they were trans. Clavicular's political philosophies aren't entirely clear, though he's done interviews and collaborated with right-wing influencers , manosphere figures, and white supremacists. He also expressed vaguely transphobic attitudes previously, according to Them . As far as which community first embraced looksmaxxing, it's widely accepted that the incel (involuntarily celibate male) community of the early 2020s was the first to coin the phrase and base much of their personalities on maximizing their appearance. Trans women, of course, have been around since people knew what "transgender" meant, and have a long history of altering their appearance to not only be more beautiful and powerful, but to more accurately align with their gender identity. Credit: NASA As NASA's Artemis II crew made history today by traveling farther from Earth than any humans ever have, another unexpected passenger quietly drifted into frame: a jar of Nutella. During NASA's livestream of the mission , the hazelnut spread could be seen floating around the Orion spacecraft cabin just minutes before Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen broke the distance record previously set by Apollo 13 in 1970. The moment immediately went viral online, with users joking that Nutella had now technically traveled farther from Earth than anyone else in history. This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed. This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed. This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed. Others joked that Ferrero, the company behind Nutella, had just received the most valuable product placement imaginable — a free ad from space. (You could also say the same about Apple's iPhone 17 Pro Max .) This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed. NASA, however, shut down any suggestion that the floating jar was part of a brand deal. In a statement to Futurism , agency press secretary Bethany Stevens said NASA "does not select crew meals or food in association with brand partnerships" and clarified that the Nutella appearance "was not a product placement." The Artemis II crew has reportedly brought a surprisingly stacked menu into space , including barbecue beef brisket, cauliflower, macaroni and cheese, broccoli au gratin, tortillas, hot sauce, and coffee. The Nutella, naturally, seems destined for mid-flight snacking. Yes, the mission is one of the most significant moments in modern space travel. But even astronauts breaking records on the way around the moon still want snacks. Digital Culture Editor Crystal Bell is the Culture Editor at Mashable. From iPhone selfies to Instagram Reels, astronauts are turning one of the most historic space missions in decades into internet content. Mission specialist Jeremy Hansen uses an iPhone to help him shave in space. Credit: NASA For the first time in decades, astronauts are heading back toward the moon. And for the first time ever, they are doing it with their iPhones. NASA's Artemis II crew — Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen — are not only documenting one of the most historic missions in modern spaceflight, but also turning it into social media content. Over the weekend, Wiseman and Koch shared a photo of Earth taken from inside the Orion spacecraft, reportedly using the selfie camera on an iPhone 17 Pro Max . The images, which show the two astronauts gazing back at the planet through Orion's window, feel both futuristic and strangely intimate — a moon mission captured through the same front-facing camera millions of people use every day. NASA has said Artemis II astronauts were allowed to bring smartphones aboard the mission , with four iPhone 17 Pro Max devices traveling alongside the agency's more traditional camera equipment. The phones have been used to capture photos and videos from inside Orion as the crew travels deeper into space, and cannot connect to the internet or Bluetooth , the New York Times reports. This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed. But one of the mission's most viral moments so far has been an Instagram Reel. On NASA's Instagram account, the Artemis II crew recently introduced themselves in a Reel styled like a cheesy '90s sitcom , complete with the theme song from Full House . The video leans into quick cuts, exaggerated frames, and astronauts who seem fully aware that a moon mission can also be memeable. The Reel has already racked up more than 13 million views, underscoring how much NASA's relationship with the internet has evolved. Space missions were once experienced through grainy television broadcasts and carefully controlled press conferences. Artemis II is unfolding on social media, with astronauts posting zero-gravity updates , behind-the-scenes cabin moments , and cinematic images of Earth that look almost too beautiful to be real. That shift feels intentional. NASA has spent years building a more personality-driven social media presence, understanding that younger audiences are more likely to connect with astronauts as people rather than distant symbols of American achievement. Artemis II is still a deeply serious scientific mission — the first crewed flight to lunar space since Apollo 17 in 1972 — but the social content makes it feel accessible in a way earlier space programs never could. There is something fitting about that. Artemis II is, in many ways, about ushering in a new era of space travel. The spacecraft may be state-of-the-art, but so is the instinct to document everything, post it, and turn even the most surreal experience imaginable into a Reel. NASA's recent Artemis II images, including several photos of Earth taken from deep space, have already gone viral across social media. Their lunar flyby on April 6 will be livestreamed on Netflix . If Apollo belonged to television, Artemis II belongs to the feed. Digital Culture Editor Crystal Bell is the Culture Editor at Mashable. In a viral video clipped from a [recent Kick stream](https://kick.com/clavicular/videos/dbadf997-86c5-419d-a679-7981d9efadef "(opens in a new window)"), Clavicular was seen eating at a Florida restaurant when his friend, Andrew Morales, aka the "Cuban Tarzan," spotted three attractive women and pushed the camera their way to show the "gooners." Soon, the three women made their way to Clavicular’s table, with one asking, "Why am I mogging you right now?" Mogging is a term to describe outshining someone’s beauty. "I’m dragqueenmaxxing right now, no shade," the unnamed woman added. SEE ALSO: [The Looksmaxxing Glossary: Every term you need to understand the internet's most unhinged subculture](https://mashable.com/article/looksmaxxing-glossary-clavicular) The three women then told Clavicular, also known as 20-year-old Braden Peters, that they were trans. *** Related Stories *** - [Who is Clavicular, and why is he everywhere right now?](https://mashable.com/article/clavicular-looksmax-incel-explained) - [Louis Theroux goes up against influencers for 'Inside the Manosphere'. While Clavicular expressed his usual boredom and superior attitude with the women, he didn’t insult them. Morales, on the other hand, expressed transphobic attitudes by repeatedly apologizing for finding the women attractive before discovering they were trans. Clavicular's political philosophies aren't entirely clear, though he's done [interviews and collaborated with right-wing influencers](https://mashable.com/article/clavicular-looksmax-incel-explained), manosphere figures, and white supremacists. On NASA's Instagram account, the Artemis II crew recently introduced themselves in a Reel [styled like a cheesy '90s sitcom](https://www.instagram.com/p/DWwuHPfCZ8Z/ "(opens in a new window)"), complete with the theme song from *Full House*. Their lunar flyby on April 6 will be [livestreamed on Netflix](https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/tv/articles/netflix-live-stream-artemis-ii-105830117.html "(opens in a new window)"). Excited to announce participatory parody by premium search service! \#GrowthMindset ![San Francisco's skyline reflected with the "In" on the front of LinkedIn HQ](https://helios-i.mashable.com/imagery/articles/05BXWGgEUSDQsx6JK5f34Im/hero-image.fill.size_1248x702.v1773876325.jpg) LinkedIn HQ in downtown San Francisco, skewered by a reflection of the Salesforce tower Credit: Smith Collection/Gado/Getty Images If you've spent more than a day on [LinkedIn](https://mashable.com/category/linkedin) in your life, you may have noticed that the networking service has developed a language all of its own. \#GrowthMindset \#PersonalBranding \#HustleCulture." The [English-to-LinkedIn translation service](https://translate.kagi.com/?from=en&to=linkedin "(opens in a new window)"), in this case, *was* automated. Kagi, a premium search service where you pay for what is essentially an ad-free, pro-privacy Google that actually works (our sister website [Lifehacker swears by it](https://lifehacker.com/tech/the-best-hidden-features-in-kagi-the-paid-alternative-to-google-search "(opens in a new window)")), also offers [free AI-based language translation](https://translate.kagi.com/ "(opens in a new window)"). *** **You May Also Like** *** *** And in a smart marketing move worthy of a LinkedIn update, Kagi has introduced more humorous internet subculture "languages" among its translation options. LinkedIn, launched Wednesday, is only the latest: there's Reddit speak (lots of "weird-ass," "cringe" and "banana for scale"), Pirate Speak ("tis a wonder their words aren't written by some mechanical ghost"), and complete fictional languages like Klingon (you'll be glad to know Klingons hunt for work on "LinkedInDaq.") But it's the LinkedIn lingo [making waves on social media this week](https://www.fastcompany.com/91511316/this-eerily-accurate-linkedin-speak-translation-tool-will-help-you-sound-like-an-instant-thinkfluencer "(opens in a new window)"). I can see why, because this is more than a novelty — it's a hilarious and actually useful translation service. When it comes to human-style AI speak taking over our digital lives, the LinkedIn translator is touching the same nerve as [Your AI Slop Bores Me](https://mashable.com/article/ai-slop-bores-me) — not to mention [George Orwell's Newspeak.](https://mashable.com/article/1984-george-orwell-2010s) Mashable Trend Report There's a game-like aspect to the translations, and the game is: is there *any* human activity that couldn't be made to sound doubleplusgood in a LinkedIn post? ![Chris Taylor](https://helios-i.mashable.com/imagery/authors/05EkIwdTFdfBnl3ahBh6Vjv/image.fill.size_100x100.v1624381061.jpg) Chris is a veteran tech, entertainment and culture journalist, author of 'How Star Wars Conquered the Universe,' and co-host of the Doctor Who podcast 'Pull to Open.' In a viral video clipped from a [recent Kick stream](https://kick.com/clavicular/videos/dbadf997-86c5-419d-a679-7981d9efadef "(opens in a new window)"), Clavicular was seen eating at a Florida restaurant when his friend, Andrew Morales, aka the "Cuban Tarzan," spotted three attractive women and pushed the camera their way to show the "gooners." Soon, the three women made their way to Clavicular’s table, with one asking, "Why am I mogging you right now?" Mogging is a term to describe outshining someone’s beauty. > [This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.](https://twitter.com/FearedBuck/status/2040974006921154802 "(Opens in a new tab) (opens in a new window)") The women then ask for Clavicular to judge their appearance, but he seems to have had enough of the exchange and refuses. He also expressed vaguely transphobic attitudes previously, [according to Them](https://www.them.us/story/a-group-of-trans-women-confronted-clavicular-live-on-stream-were-the-og-looksmaxxers "(opens in a new window)"). ![Neal Broverman](https://helios-i.mashable.com/imagery/authors/01nRbzEFxDPmk36od2R55ON/image.fill.size_100x100.v1737734332.png) Enterprise Editor Neal joined Mashable’s Social Good team in 2024, editing and writing stories about digital culture and its effects on the environment and marginalized communities. Credit: NASA As NASA's Artemis II crew [made history](https://mashable.com/article/artemis-ii-lunar-flyby) today by traveling farther from Earth than any humans ever have, another unexpected passenger quietly drifted into frame: a jar of Nutella. During [NASA's livestream of the mission](https://mashable.com/article/how-to-watch-artemis-ii-moon-flyby-livestream), the hazelnut spread could be seen floating around the Orion spacecraft cabin just minutes before Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen broke the distance record previously set by Apollo 13 in 1970. The moment immediately went viral online, with users joking that Nutella had now technically traveled farther from Earth than anyone else in history. > [This Tweet is currently unavailable. In a [statement to Futurism](https://futurism.com/space/nutella-moon-spacecraft "(opens in a new window)"), agency press secretary Bethany Stevens said NASA "does not select crew meals or food in association with brand partnerships" and clarified that the Nutella appearance "was not a product placement." The Artemis II crew has reportedly brought a surprisingly [stacked menu into space](https://www.nasa.gov/missions/artemis/artemis-2/artemis-ii-whats-on-the-menu/ "(opens in a new window)"), including barbecue beef brisket, cauliflower, macaroni and cheese, broccoli au gratin, tortillas, hot sauce, and coffee. The Nutella, naturally, seems destined for mid-flight snacking. Yes, the mission is one of the most significant moments in modern space travel. But even astronauts breaking records on the way around the moon still want snacks. ![An image of Crystal Bell's face ](https://helios-i.mashable.com/imagery/authors/01EBFAlvUnKlEXUBJlGsFR4/image.fill.size_100x100.v1754658945.png) Digital Culture Editor Crystal Bell is the Culture Editor at Mashable. Credit: NASA For the first time in decades, astronauts are heading back toward the moon. And for the first time ever, they are doing it with their iPhones. NASA's [Artemis II](https://mashable.com/article/nasa-artemis-ii-live-tracker) crew — Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen — are not only documenting one of the most historic missions in modern spaceflight, but also turning it into social media content. Over the weekend, Wiseman and Koch [shared a photo of Earth](https://www.instagram.com/p/DWxQ9uJER_I/ "(opens in a new window)") taken from inside the Orion spacecraft, [reportedly using the selfie camera](https://x.com/MKBHD/status/2041142663009755587 "(opens in a new window)") on an [iPhone 17 Pro Max](https://www.macrumors.com/2026/04/05/nasa-artemis-ii-photos-shot-on-iphone-17-pro-max/ "(opens in a new window)"). The images, which show the two astronauts gazing back at the planet through Orion's window, feel both futuristic and strangely intimate — a moon mission captured through the same front-facing camera millions of people use every day. NASA has said Artemis II astronauts were [allowed to bring smartphones aboard the mission](https://x.com/NASAAdmin/status/2019259382962307393?s=20 "(opens in a new window)"), with four iPhone 17 Pro Max devices traveling alongside the agency's more traditional camera equipment. The phones have been used to capture photos and videos from inside Orion as the crew travels deeper into space, and [cannot connect to the internet or Bluetooth](https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/03/technology/iphones-artemis-nasa.html "(opens in a new window)"), the *New York Times* reports. > [This Tweet is currently unavailable. Artemis II is unfolding on social media, with astronauts posting [zero-gravity updates](https://www.instagram.com/p/DWwsU-nDhOI/ "(opens in a new window)"), [behind-the-scenes cabin moments](https://www.instagram.com/p/DWyzUmZDc7M/?img_index=1 "(opens in a new window)"), and [cinematic images of Earth](https://mashable.com/article/nasa-artemis-ii-earth-photos) that look almost too beautiful to be real. Their lunar flyby on April 6 will be [livestreamed on Netflix](https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/tv/articles/netflix-live-stream-artemis-ii-105830117.html "(opens in a new window)"). If Apollo belonged to television, Artemis II belongs to the feed. ![An image of Crystal Bell's face ](https://helios-i.mashable.com/imagery/authors/01EBFAlvUnKlEXUBJlGsFR4/image.fill.size_100x100.v1754658945.png) Digital Culture Editor Crystal Bell is the Culture Editor at Mashable.
