I mean, you're looking at the Dow that's down six tenths of a percent, the Nasdaq that had been down um two percent this morning and it's now down nine tenths of a percent. And then the S&P 500, there you see it on the screen, down eight tenths of a percent off the lows. But the big news really is this announcement from President Trump that the Navy is going to escort tankers through the straight of our moves and also ensure tankers. This is huge. And if we take a look at what we're seeing right now with the oil markets, we are seeing that uh WTI and Brent crude uh paring gains. Uh you saw this big move lower uh when that news came out. Now it's up more than 3% for both WTI and Brent. But this has really been the big concern with oil with energy and why we've seen prices going higher over the last couple of days is because Wall Street is calling out this sort of logistic shock when it comes to the energy market. It's not that there isn't enough oil, it's that it's stuck and that you've got the straight of our moose with Iran saying that no vessels are going to go through. So this really creates this pressure to the upside when it comes to the energy markets. And strategists saying, the longer that this war goes on, the more that you will see prices going higher. So so certainly this is alleviating the situation.\n00:54\nSpeaker A\nYeah, we we had an energy analyst on the show this week and as we're talking about how when you talk about the straight of, it was yes, technically open, but obviously no surprise. I mean, really impacted by the war in a critical artery for the market. What about gold and dollar? What are you seeing there?\n01:10\nInes\nYeah, so we have seen this move higher when it comes to the US dollar and we've seen gold tumbling, really. We saw gold going down as much as 4% earlier. What's happening here is that the dollar is going vertical against other currencies. So, uh twofold, you've got this situation where a strong dollar, you've got foreign governments that are then have to sell treasuries in order to defend their currencies. And and so then that causes yields to rise with bonds and that makes gold less attractive. Also, you've got gold being more expensive for foreign buyers if you have the dollar going higher. And then on top of it, you've got the uh if you've see stocks that are rolling over, the market's rolling over and we've seen that uh really across the world in different markets, then you've got margin calls and so then you will sell your best assets in order to cover those margin calls. So and to raise cash. So that's part of what we're seeing with the gold reversal today.\n02:08\nSpeaker A\nAnd finally, a quick check on crypto, what's going on with Bitcoin?\n02:11\nInes\nSo we are seeing Bitcoin that has been holding up around 68,000. Uh and this is what strategists have been talking about. Yesterday you saw Bitcoin uh that was moving to the upside. Uh you saw Bitcoin's movement when the war broke out, you saw it go down to 63 and then you saw it spike higher. So strategists are saying that this is a positive sign that it's been showing signs of resilience. You still don't have strategists though, uh that are saying necessarily that we have reached a bottom, although some are talking about that. Uh a lot of what's happening with Bitcoin has to do with global liquidity and there are some calls out there that are saying, look, we're still in a downtrend when it comes to Bitcoin, so you could see prices going lower. I mean, you're looking at the Dow that's down six tenths of a percent, the Nasdaq that had been down um two percent this morning and it's now down nine tenths of a percent. And then the S\\&P 500, there you see it on the screen, down eight tenths of a percent off the lows. But the big news really is this announcement from President Trump that the Navy is going to escort tankers through the straight of our moves and also ensure tankers. This is huge. And if we take a look at what we're seeing right now with the oil markets, we are seeing that uh WTI and Brent crude uh paring gains. Uh you saw this big move lower uh when that news came out. Now it's up more than 3% for both WTI and Brent. But this has really been the big concern with oil with energy and why we've seen prices going higher over the last couple of days is because Wall Street is calling out this sort of logistic shock when it comes to the energy market. It's not that there isn't enough oil, it's that it's stuck and that you've got the straight of our moose with Iran saying that no vessels are going to go through. So this really creates this pressure to the upside when it comes to the energy markets. And strategists saying, the longer that this war goes on, the more that you will see prices going higher. So so certainly this is alleviating the situation.\n\n00:54  Speaker A\n\nYeah, we we had an energy analyst on the show this week and as we're talking about how when you talk about the straight of, it was yes, technically open, but obviously no surprise. I mean, really impacted by the war in a critical artery for the market. What about gold and dollar? What are you seeing there?\n\n01:10  Ines\n\nYeah, so we have seen this move higher when it comes to the US dollar and we've seen gold tumbling, really. We saw gold going down as much as 4% earlier. What's happening here is that the dollar is going vertical against other currencies. So, uh twofold, you've got this situation where a strong dollar, you've got foreign governments that are then have to sell treasuries in order to defend their currencies. And and so then that causes yields to rise with bonds and that makes gold less attractive. Also, you've got gold being more expensive for foreign buyers if you have the dollar going higher. And then on top of it, you've got the uh if you've see stocks that are rolling over, the market's rolling over and we've seen that uh really across the world in different markets, then you've got margin calls and so then you will sell your best assets in order to cover those margin calls. So and to raise cash. So that's part of what we're seeing with the gold reversal today.\n\n02:08  Speaker A\n\nAnd finally, a quick check on crypto, what's going on with Bitcoin?\n\n02:11  Ines\n\nSo we are seeing Bitcoin that has been holding up around 68,000. Uh and this is what strategists have been talking about. Yesterday you saw Bitcoin uh that was moving to the upside. Uh you saw Bitcoin's movement when the war broke out, you saw it go down to 63 and then you saw it spike higher. So strategists are saying that this is a positive sign that it's been showing signs of resilience. You still don't have strategists though, uh that are saying necessarily that we have reached a bottom, although some are talking about that. Uh a lot of what's happening with Bitcoin has to do with global liquidity and there are some calls out there that are saying, look, we're still in a downtrend when it comes to Bitcoin, so you could see prices going lower. Video Transcript 00:00 Ines we are off the session lows right now when it comes to the stock market. I mean, you're looking at the Dow that's down six tenths of a percent, the Nasdaq that had been down um two percent this morning and it's now down nine tenths of a percent. And then the S\&P 500, there you see it on the screen, down eight tenths of a percent off the lows. But the big news really is this announcement from President Trump that the Navy is going to escort tankers through the straight of our moves and also ensure tankers. This is huge. And if we take a look at what we're seeing right now with the oil markets, we are seeing that uh WTI and Brent crude uh paring gains. Uh you saw this big move lower uh when that news came out. Now it's up more than 3% for both WTI and Brent. But this has really been the big concern with oil with energy and why we've seen prices going higher over the last couple of days is because Wall Street is calling out this sort of logistic shock when it comes to the energy market. It's not that there isn't enough oil, it's that it's stuck and that you've got the straight of our moose with Iran saying that no vessels are going to go through. So this really creates this pressure to the upside when it comes to the energy markets. And strategists saying, the longer that this war goes on, the more that you will see prices going higher. So so certainly this is alleviating the situation. 00:54 Speaker A Yeah, we we had an energy analyst on the show this week and as we're talking about how when you talk about the straight of, it was yes, technically open, but obviously no surprise. I mean, really impacted by the war in a critical artery for the market. What about gold and dollar? What are you seeing there? 01:10 Ines Yeah, so we have seen this move higher when it comes to the US dollar and we've seen gold tumbling, really. We saw gold going down as much as 4% earlier. What's happening here is that the dollar is going vertical against other currencies. So, uh twofold, you've got this situation where a strong dollar, you've got foreign governments that are then have to sell treasuries in order to defend their currencies. And and so then that causes yields to rise with bonds and that makes gold less attractive. Also, you've got gold being more expensive for foreign buyers if you have the dollar going higher. And then on top of it, you've got the uh if you've see stocks that are rolling over, the market's rolling over and we've seen that uh really across the world in different markets, then you've got margin calls and so then you will sell your best assets in order to cover those margin calls. So and to raise cash. So that's part of what we're seeing with the gold reversal today. 02:08 Speaker A And finally, a quick check on crypto, what's going on with Bitcoin? 02:11 Ines So we are seeing Bitcoin that has been holding up around 68,000. Uh and this is what strategists have been talking about. Yesterday you saw Bitcoin uh that was moving to the upside. Uh you saw Bitcoin's movement when the war broke out, you saw it go down to 63 and then you saw it spike higher. So strategists are saying that this is a positive sign that it's been showing signs of resilience. You still don't have strategists though, uh that are saying necessarily that we have reached a bottom, although some are talking about that. Uh a lot of what's happening with Bitcoin has to do with global liquidity and there are some calls out there that are saying, look, we're still in a downtrend when it comes to Bitcoin, so you could see prices going lower.
