jump to recipe Beef Stroganoff is an easy dinner recipe that can be made in about 30 minutes. I like this recipe for beef stroganoff because it doesn’t use any “cream of” soups, like most recipes call for. Add a vegetable as a side and you’ve got an easy complete meal! Leftovers also reheat well. Disclosure: Cooking in the Midwest participates in affiliate advertising programs. I may earn a commission when you make qualifying purchases through my website. Ingredients 1 lb ground beef 1 chopped onion 1/2 tsp each of salt and pepper 1 tsp each of Italian seasoning and onion powder 1 TBSP minced garlic 2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce 3 tbsp butter 3 tbsp flour 2 cups beef broth 1 cup sour cream 10 oz medium egg noodles Fresh or dried parsley To start making this recipe, heat a large pot of water and cook the medium egg noodles according to the directions of the package. I measured out 10 oz of uncooked noodles to use for this recipe. Next, heat a large skillet over medium high heat. I used my 12 in cast iron skillet. Add one pound of ground beef and a chopped onion to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and onion powder. Stir everything together well. Once the beef is cooked through, drain any extra grease. Turn the heat down to medium. Add 1 tbsp of minced garlic and 2 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce. Stir everything together well. Add 3 tbsp of butter to the skillet. Once the butter is melted add 3 tbsp of flour. Stir together and let cook for at least one minute. Next, add 2 cups of beef broth and stir well. Let this continue cooking until it thickens. It helps to keep stirring as it thickens. Once the mixture has thickened remove the skillet from the heat and stir in 1 cup of sour cream. Add the cooked egg noodles and stir everything together well. Serve Beef Stroganoff Once the ground beef mixture and egg noodles are all mixed together, top with some fresh or dried parsley and serve! I like to have some kind of a vegetable as a side with this meal. Green beans, some roasted broccoli, or even a salad would all be good options. This is also one of those meals that I just have to have butter bread with. Tips and Frequently Asked Questions I used 10 oz of medium egg noodles for this recipe, but any size egg noodle should work the same. To cut back on sodium you can use a low sodium beef broth. Leftovers reheat well. You can mince your own garlic or use garlic from a jar for this recipe. I used a large 12 inch cast iron skillet. I remember even as a little kid I was always experimenting in the kitchen. I watched the food network from a young age and loved trying to create my own food and have my family members try out my creations. [jump to recipe](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/blog/beef-stroganoff-recipe/#recipe) Beef Stroganoff is an easy dinner recipe that can be made in about 30 minutes. I like this recipe for beef stroganoff because it doesn’t use any “cream of” soups, like most recipes call for. Add a vegetable as a side and you’ve got an easy complete meal! Leftovers also reheat well. ![Beef Stroganoff](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/savingPNG-5-4-1024x1024.jpg) Disclosure: Cooking in the Midwest participates in affiliate advertising programs. ![Browned Ground Beef](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/savingPNG-3-7-1024x1024.jpg) Turn the heat down to medium. ![Beef and gravy](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/savingPNG-4-4-1024x1024.jpg) Once the mixture has thickened remove the skillet from the heat and stir in 1 cup of sour cream. Add the cooked egg noodles and stir everything together well. ## Serve Beef Stroganoff Once the ground beef mixture and egg noodles are all mixed together, top with some fresh or dried parsley and serve! I like to have some kind of a vegetable as a side with this meal. Green beans, some roasted broccoli, or even a salad would all be good options. This is also one of those meals that I just have to have butter bread with. ![Beef Stroganoff](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/savingPNG-6-8-1024x1024.jpg) ## Tips and Frequently Asked Questions - I used 10 oz of medium egg noodles for this recipe, but any size egg noodle should work the same. - To cut back on sodium you can use a low sodium beef broth. - Leftovers reheat well. - You can mince your own garlic or use garlic from a jar for this recipe. - I used a large 12 inch cast iron skillet. ![Beef Stroganoff](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/savingPNG-7-6-1024x1024.jpg) ## Similar Recipes - [Easy Chicken and Gravy](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/blog/easy-chicken-and-gravy/#recipe) - [Crockpot Chicken Spaghetti](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/blog/crockpot-chicken-spaghetti-recipe/) - [Steak and Cheese Tacos](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/blog/steak-cheese-tacos/) - [Sloppy Joe Potato Skillet](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/blog/sloppy-joe-potato-skillet-dinner-recipe/) - [Lazy Lasagna Skillet Meal](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/blog/lazy-lasagna-skillet-meal/) - [Easy Alfredo Chicken Tortellini](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/blog/easy-chicken-alfredo-tortellini/) - [Crockpot Chicken and Gnocchi](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/blog/crockpot-chicken-and-gnocchi/) - [Creamy Chicken and Noodles](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/blog/creamy-chicken-and-noodles/) ![Beef Stroganoff](https://cookinginthemidwest.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/savingPNG-5-4.jpg) ## Beef Stroganoff This is an easy dinner recipe that can be made in about 30 minutes\!
