Unfortunately, it’s starting to look like the wait for the final two episodes of the series might be much longer than originally thought as the break between Episodes 8 and 9 could end up making for a not only a one week wait, but two and potentially longer as well.\nIt was previously revealed that\nRick and Morty\nSeason 5 would be taking a break next Sunday, August 15th (\nwhich will be dominated by not only\nTuca &\nBertie\n‘s Season 2 finale, but a marathon of the new season following that\n), but a new schedule listing\nspotted by @swimpedia on Twitter\nhas also revealed that there will not be a new episode of\nRick and Morty\non Sunday, August 22nd either. That means it’s going to be at least two weeks of waiting in between Episodes 8 and 9 of Season 5.\nIt’s yet to be officially confirmed whether or not\nRick and Morty\nwill be missing out for two Sundays in a row, nor has a reason for the delay has been revealed, but fans are hoping that this means that eventually it will mean a two-part season finale when the new season finally does return.\nGiven the several month break between the first and last five episodes of Season 4, this hiatus doesn’t seem too bad by comparison.\nWith Rick and Morty\nalready confirmed for Seasons 6, 7 (with Season 7 of the series wrapping the writing portion of its production recently\n), and many more episodes coming down the pipeline along with\nnewly produced anime shorts from more creators following the success of the first three shorts\n, this wait might sting but at least fans can rest easy knowing that there are still plenty more new episodes for years to come.\nThen again, there’s also no telling whether or not this hiatus will end after just two weeks either but we’ll see soon enough as\nRick and\nMorty\n‘s next new episode airs on Adult Swim on Sunday, August 8th at 11:00PM EST. Adult Swim has been making its way [through the fifth season of the fan favorite animated series, and soon it will be rounding out its eighth episode with its next new release](https://comicbook.com/anime/news/rick-and-morty-season-5-episode-8-adult-swim-first-look-watch/). Unfortunately, it’s starting to look like the wait for the final two episodes of the series might be much longer than originally thought as the break between Episodes 8 and 9 could end up making for a not only a one week wait, but two and potentially longer as well. It was previously revealed that [Rick and Morty](https://comicbook.com/category/rick-and-morty-comic/) Season 5 would be taking a break next Sunday, August 15th ([which will be dominated by not only Tuca & Bertie‘s Season 2 finale, but a marathon of the new season following that](https://comicbook.com/anime/news/tuca-and-bertie-adult-swim-season-3-renewed/)), but a new schedule listing [spotted by @swimpedia on Twitter](https://twitter.com/swimpedia/status/1424175457533140994?s=21) has also revealed that there will not be a new episode of [Rick and Morty](https://comicbook.com/category/rick-and-morty/) on Sunday, August 22nd either. That means it’s going to be at least two weeks of waiting in between Episodes 8 and 9 of Season 5. It’s yet to be officially confirmed whether or not [Rick and Morty](https://comicbook.com/category/rick-and-morty-comic/) will be missing out for two Sundays in a row, nor has a reason for the delay has been revealed, but fans are hoping that this means that eventually it will mean a two-part season finale when the new season finally does return. [Given the several month break between the first and last five episodes of Season 4, this hiatus doesn’t seem too bad by comparison.](https://comicbook.com/anime/news/rick-and-morty-new-anime-watch-adult-swim-summer-meets-god-rick-/) With Rick and Morty [already confirmed for Seasons 6, 7 (with Season 7 of the series wrapping the writing portion of its production recently](https://comicbook.com/anime/news/rick-and-morty-season-7-wrapped-writers-adult-swim/)), and many more episodes coming down the pipeline along with [newly produced anime shorts from more creators following the success of the first three shorts](https://comicbook.com/anime/news/rick-and-morty-new-anime-shorts-adult-swim-plans/), this wait might sting but at least fans can rest easy knowing that there are still plenty more new episodes for years to come. Then again, there’s also no telling whether or not this hiatus will end after just two weeks either but we’ll see soon enough as Rick and Morty‘s next new episode airs on Adult Swim on Sunday, August 8th at 11:00PM EST.
