Readable Markdown	Nerds are often the [unsung heroes](https://cheezburger.com/25218565/being-a-nerd-15-supposedly-stigmatized-behaviors-that-are-actually-no-big-deal) of the world. Nerds are the ones finding the cures to diseases, writing the iconic fantasy novel series, and running pub trivia. All things that are equally important. Nerds are passionate about what they're passionate about, and they don't apologize for it. What is a nerd if not just someone who knows a lot? Sure, nerds are usually somewhat socially awkward as well, but who isn't these days? Nerds may get maligned for being too into things that don't matter, but nerds are also the ones updating the Wikipedia articles that we rely on for information. Society would completely collapse [without nerds](https://cheezburger.com/25117957/boyfriend-who-peaked-in-high-school-gets-offended-that-nerdy-girlfriend-didnt-know-who-he-was-in). We'd just be left with volleyball tournaments and Jell-O shots. Which sounds kind of fun, but you'd get sick of it really fast and want to return to a world full of knowledge and discourse.
