(AP) — El riesgo mundial presentado por la variante ómicron del coronavirus es “muy alto”, de acuerdo con evidencia preliminar, y podría acarrear “consecuencias severas”, advirtió el lunes la OMS.\n\nLa evaluación de la agencia de salud de la ONU, contenida en un documento técnico emitido a los Estados miembros, representó la advertencia más fuerte y explícita de la OMS sobre la nueva versión que fue identificada por primera vez hace días por investigadores en Sudáfrica.\n\nCada vez más países de diversas partes del mundo reportan casos de la variante y han cerrado de golpe sus puertas —un enfoque de actuar ahora, preguntar después— mientras los científicos se apresuran a descubrir qué tan peligrosa podría ser esta versión.\n\nJapón e Israel anunciaron que suspenderían la entrada de todos los extranjeros. Marruecos prohibió todos los vuelos entrantes.
